Best seafood in the south 12/30/2006

I am from Maryland, living in Tennessee for 8 years. When my other Maryland friend told me about the shrimp dock and how good the crabs and shrimp were. I was very skeptical, not here in Tennessee never could there be a place that has seafood like Maryland Steamed shrimp, they are unheard of here. Well, to my delight when I visited Knoxville one afternoon and decided to see for myself how great this place was supposed to be I was awe struck. I felt like I was back in Maryland again at my favorite seafood haunt. I bought 5lbs crab meat 4lbs fresh flounder 10lbs of shrimp and some wonderful sauces. You can bet I will be a regular customer as long as I live and breathe. See ya next week. more

  • The Shrimp Dock was founded Captain Paul Willis, and has been providing fresh fish and shellfish to East Tennessee since 1993. The company started with weekly shrimp sales. He opened a storefront in Bearden, and a Farragut location was opened in 2008 by Phil Dangel, who purchased the Bearden locatio. In 2012, the Alcoa location opened. Fresh seafood is supplied by Captain Paul and other fishermen daily. At The Shrimp Dock, choose from delicious Po'Boy sandwiches or entrees including shrimp, tilapia, oyster, catfish, or cod. Other menu items include fish tacos, trout, fried clams, oysters, salmon, and scallops. Seafood Boils are also available for two people to a crowd, including rental of equipment to make your event a success.
