Pretty cool place. Food is good, service varies but is pretty good most of the time. Some good musicians play there. Would like to see Greg Aulden, Mike Tate and Carlos Trapp more often. Pros: music Cons: too smokey more

This is the quintessential Village Hangout and always features a dizzying array of talented singer/songwriters and bands. Casual, Friendly, Funky, Slightly Divey, Always Fun. The Red Lion is widely known as a premier live music venue in the city. Sought after New York artists such as Gavin DeGraw, Milo Z, Dana Fuchs, and The Nerds, along with an array of national acts regularly play to eager audiences nightly. The Breslin Group acquired The Red Lion 6 years ago. It's located in the heart of the West Village in Manhattan, at 151 Bleecker Street. The Breslin Group recently undertook an extensive renovation of the historic space. Widely respected design firm Dellago & Associates created a class room, yet funky and unique, true to it's surroundings in the West Village. The audio-visual systems at The Red Lion are second to none, after a significant investment in top of the line sound and satellite systems. The Red Lion is now quickly getting a reputation as a top satellite sporting event venue in addition to it's established music reputation.

  • The Red Lion has live music 7 days a week. and if this isn't enough we also have satellite sporting events, such as UEFA, English premier league soccer, in'tl soccer, int'l rugby, football & more. We also have an event planner.

    For good food, big fun and happy times, The Red Lion is the place to be. Our menu consists of delicious starters & appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, panini wraps and burgers.
