Except during hurricanes, the Produce Place can be counted on for a good selection of local in-season produce which is supplemented by veggies and fruits from other locales in the U.S. and other countries. During hurricanes, they board up and hunker down with the rest of us. Then again, I didn't crave watermelon when we were having 100 mph winds. When available, heirloom tomatoes and Plant City strawberries are great. They also have the usual suspects for local citrus but occasionally more obscure local fruits. Reasonable prices, open bin selectons and helpful friendly staff make this a better place to buy most produce that the local supermarkets where too much is pre-packaged. At least one of the owners are usually on the premises and routinely ask you if they can help with suggestions. Typcially, their guidance is on the mark.
