Best

This is one of my favorite restaurants. They have old world type decor and you can even sit in an old railroad train car. All meals come with ice tea, salad and icecream - yummy...

Oh the parking! 12/10/2006

The Old Spaghetti Factory, located minutes from the ocean, is a restaurant the whole family can enjoy. They serve spaghetti (obviously) and for desert, you get a choice of vanilla or spumoni at no extra cost. The problem with this Old Spaghetti Factory is the location. Because this place is located in Newport Beach, you either have to valet park or find street parking along W. Balboa Avenue. I've walked as far as half a mile just to eat here because we wanted to avoid the valet parking. In addition to the parking woes, expect to wait 45 minutes to over an hour to get seated during the weekends (Friday and Saturday nights). I don't particular enjoy paying $8-$10 for cheap spaghetti but I prefer Old Spaghetti Factory over Olive Garden any day of the week. more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. They have old world type decor and you can even sit in an old railroad train car. All meals come with ice tea, salad and icecream - yummy!!! You have to try the mazithra cheese option - wonderful salty/ buttery taste like no other - turns spaghetti into another meal - the BEST!!! Gets very busy on the weekends. more

Family food, good 8/21/2005

This Spaghetti Factory is a good place to take the family to eat. Most of the food here is Italian, there are some things on the menu that are probably not Italian. The best dish is the broccoli dish. It's broccoli, a little more than blanched, and covered in fresh Parmesan cheese. It's nice for visiting guests because of the train car that is in the middle of the restaurant. How many people have sat in one and ate a dinner? I bet not many. This is a great place. The only downfall for this Newport Beach location is that parking is difficult. There are many residential areas, but usually all taken. The wost is there are a ton of meters and no change machines. Unless you valet, have a ton of quarters with you, and be careful walking to and from the restaurant. more

Old Spaghetti Factory 7/23/2005

This restaurant is very delicious. The decor in the place is very "old-style", with old train cars you can sit in, old fashion wall hangings, etc.. The meals are good portion sizes and they come with a drink and ice cream as well. Very affordable, great place to take the family to dinner. more

Editorial
  • In Short
Whimsical antiques and decorative items--velvet armchairs, vintage-looking fringed lamps and booths made from iron bedsteads--fill the dining room. The OSF Classics menu offers spaghetti with a choice of mushroom sauce, rich meat sauce, browned butter and feta-like mizithra cheese sauce, and more. Other popular favorites are the baked lasagna--layers of noodles, tomato sauce and four kinds of cheese--and the fettuccine Alfredo. Meals include a green salad, fresh-baked bread and ice cream.
