The Landing Restaurant

I cannot believe the other person who reviewed this restaurant. We arrived in Natchitoches yesterday for a family need (family from Natchitoches, many generations). My husband wanted a nice place to eat, and wasn't keep on going to the many fast food restaurants down Keyser. I suggested the Landing and had always passed it up because it looked too expensive. We got the lunch portion pasta dish, bread pudding, and meat pies. Everything was incredible, including the service. We told the waiter that we had somewhere to be and he made sure everything was prompt and correct. The restaurant was quiet and there were not alot of loud, screaming people like we are used to where we live. Furthermore, the prices were very reasonable and we got alot for the money. Maybe out of towners who don't know the area and are expecting some NYC fancy, schmancy restaurant would complain.. But we have none whatsoever! more

We arrived yesterday at the Fleur de Lys B&B, Natchitoches, and decided to go at the Landing. We already went there 2 years ago and the place was decent on that time. What a desillusion .... We ordered 2 alligator gumbo cups and 2 entrees with salad as a side. The salads arrived 10 minutes later and, all of a sudden, both the gumbo and the entrees at the very same time. Of course, the time we finished our soup, the entrees were cold ... We signaled the problem to the waitress and, well, all seemed ok for her. WOW, to serve the appetizer and the entree at the same time is now OK ?? We dropped some money and left the so-called ""restaurant"". Result : 60 dollars for 2 cups of gumbo.
