Get there early! 2/4/2009

We checked this place out of my friends b-day and it was fun BUT super busy. We got there around 10:00pm and there was a huge line. WE didn't have to wait to long but when we got inside you could not move or dance. I would recommend this place to have a drink and hanging out but not dancing. The music was good and no cover charge. The door guys where nice too not all LA crazy. more

Best.... everything!!! 12/29/2008

I never ever ever write reviews but I had to for The Hideout. I stumbled upon this place by shear luck- i was searching places to go for my 23rd bday on citysearch and out of nowhere it came up. I think they were promoting their holiday parties, so I checked it out. Being a starving artist, I couldnt drop major dough for a party, so I checked for the important things first. No cover-check. Free to book a table- Check! (They even give you a choice of bottle service or no bottle service), super easy to do on the website. And right now they are having a deal when you book the lounge you get a free bottle of champagne! who does that?! I quickly emailed the manager thinking this was too easy, or some kind of joke. Niko, the manager/bartender replied and called back super fast and was very polite. My party ended up being too small for the lounge, so we got two tables near the dj booth downstairs-perfect! best seats! He also threw in FREE champagne to toast!! unbelievable!! As a bonus the bar/lounge itself has such a great ambiance, very intimate yet gives you that party feeling. It may not be a typical "club" but after a few drinks it won't matter, you'll dance anyway. Bottomline, I found a little diamond in the rough and ended up having the best birthday party ever and didn't spend a dime!! Pros: no cover, free to book a table, great for parties Cons: 30mins from where I live (but worth it!) more

One Of tyhe Best 12/1/2008

This spot is up there with Elevate even though they are in two different categories. Its mellow and has great drink. Great find more

Great party place, great music, great staff! 6/9/2008

The Hideout is the perfect place for parties. They either have the upstairs private lounge, or tables to reserve in the main lounge. There's no cover charge, they do not charge for table reservations, or even require bottle service...it's great! It's such a chill atmosphere with all the bells and whistles and without the Hollywood drama. I would definitely recommend to have a party here...and even check it out on Karaoke Thursdays for 1/2 price drinks and free tacos. The Hideout is the kinda bar that you really want, but usually doesn't exist in LA. Pros: Great service, drinks...and people! Cons: Can't think of any... more

Very cool bar and lounge! 11/26/2007

This place rocks. I had my birthday party here and couldnt have been happier. The music was incredible, and the drinks were great! The staff is really nice and friendly too, not all snooty like so many other places. They definately add to the really cool vibe going on. The place is awesome, and I especially love the smoking padio. Its hard to find a cool place where you can drink and smoke in a beautiful charming outdoor padio. The place has lots of different areas to hang out. I love it, I cant wait to come again. This place is for sure a hot spot in Santa Monica. Oh and the staff are all really good looking! Thats always a plus. Oh and the manager was really awesome, he treats every guest like a friend and that is truly remarkable. more

Best Westside Lounge...Great for parties...Friendly staff! 8/2/2007

I just had my 30th birthday party there on a Saturday night, and it was the BEST EVER! The music was great with mostly 80's playing and it was just the right volume... quiet enough to have a conversation, and loud enough to enjoy. The bartenders were fast and friendly...and they even remembered what I was drinking all night. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a great party, or a get together with friends. The Hideout lounge offers a cool vibe that caters to the neighborhood and attracts a great crowd...I'm definitely coming back! more

best place for sm drinks! 5/24/2007

tiny, dead... 12/20/2006

Saw the high user rating on city search, and the Hideout webpage stating that Wednesdays were 1/2 price (beers & well drinks) days, so some friends and I decided to check it out. We're always down to check out new venues. We were very dissappointed when we got there... the place is as big as my living room, there were literally like 5 other people there, and the drinks at 1/2 price were still $7. Overall, we expected too much before going there, maybe if we didnt have such high expectations, we would of had a better time. Pros: Parking, Privacy more

Relaxing Hangout; Great DJ 11/1/2006

I've been here a few times and the atmosphere is very casual and relaxed - refreshing when you need to get away from the strip. The DJ (asian guy) was awesome - great blend of pop, hip hop and eighties music. Great place to hang out with friends. Unfortunately, people weren't particularly attractive. Pros: Relaxed hangout; Great music Cons: No cute people more

fun!! 10/26/2006

i threw my friend a surprise party here and it was a lot of fun. i dont know about the previous reveiw with hot chix...didnt see any...the crowd was kind of random, but i did see a few celebs which was surprising. everyone was having a good time. dj was pretty bad, but did play some dancing hits...overall a fun time. Pros: no cover more

The Hideout... (Looks could be deceiving) Its not a "club" more like a ... 10/23/2006

Not for everyone. I went there simply because I did my research online and found The Hideout to have great reviews. It was my sisters last/first nite in l.a. as well as my gf and I so we were excited to head out to The Hideout. In short, inside is nice in calming yet if you plan on dancing, go elsewhere! Your probably thinking well if I dont like it I'll go elsewhere. Well the greeters were rude when asked if there was another club near by. Didn't even give out a clear response. inside it was a bit crowded the music wasn't as loud as one would expect. And the drinks are over priced. If you just want to stand and have a couple drinks in a small room while no one is really dancing then this place is for you. By the way, this IS NOT A CLUB! Its a Bar! I was disappointed. Pros: No entrance charge Cons: advertised as a "club" more like a Bar! Just a place to drink. Very, VERY SMALL PLACE! more

Great new spot 9/27/2006

Cozy, neighborhood bar offers mellow tunes and plenty of places to lounge. Great space for a b-day party or an after work hangout. Drinks are strong and location off PCH gives it a much different vibe than the usual Hollywood or westside hangouts. I highly recommend it! more

Good westside hangout 9/23/2006

This place is small but cozy. There were a few bday parties going on so it was pretty crowded when I went Saturday night. I was looking forward to hear the DJ spin music after everyone on this board said he plays great music. Maybe it was a different DJ that night, but he was OK. They need more speakers up in that joint because it wasn't loud enough. There isn't really a dance floor, people just dancing wherever. I was expecting cheaper drinks, but maybe cuz it was a weekend night, they raised the prices. I would go back, but only if I had a group of friends to go with. more

My Jukebox! 9/7/2006

Love Karayoke Night. Good booze. Good Tunes. Good people. Good times. Hope to be able to make it back soon!!! more

  • With a curved entrance and simple neon cocktails sign, this airy cocktail hangout is a fun hideout for the local WeHo crowd. Swaying curtains separate the nautically themed bar area from the main lounge, which is decorated with images of Santa Monica in the '20s. The second floor features a loft and an overlook to the low-back-chair-filled rear patio. A now predominantly straight crowd ranges from flip-flop-wearing canyon dwellers to nearby restaurant patrons dropping in for weekend DJs and neighborhood gossip.
