AS SOON AS i WALKED THROUGH THE DOOR THEY WERE VERY ACCOMODATING. i HAD MY GLASS OF WINE, AND WAS ESCORTED TO KATRINAS CHAIR, i FELT VERY COMFORTABLE AFTER OUR CONSULTATION, SHE LISTEN TO EVERY WORD, AND WAS VERY KNOWLEGABLE IN HER CRAFT, i LEFT LOOKING LIKE A MILLION BUCKS!! Amazing guy cuts without all the hassle 2/10/2005

I loved this place and am going to reccomend it to all my friends. Went in for a cut and I usually let it get shaggy because getting my hair cut is usually so traumatic. I sat down, told Anthony, the stylist, what i was looking for and let him do the rest. He worked wonders. I went from college boy look to sleek and sophiscated without feeling like i looked like i was from wall street. I've been getting compliments ever since and the ladies love the do. My Fantastic Facial 2/9/2005

I went for a facial with Lourdes Espaillat, it was great the atmosphere was very soothing, her hands were great. The facialist was super nice and friendly. The products were great smooth and really worked in the end i could feel and see the difference, my face felt light and refreshed. Pros: Nice people Cons: none really more

Great place 2/4/2005

Been twice, and both times were exemplary experiences. Both were walk-ins, the first time with a twenty minute wait, the second time perhaps five minutes. Offered my (patiently waiting) girlfriend and myself drinks, the second visit after I'd already been seated for the cut, the wait was so short. Beautiful, skillful cuts, with constant attention to any concerns on my part. My stylist, the owner, the receptionist, and, well, everyone were lovely people, and I plan on making it my go-to salon. Simply The Best really says it all. Alma, the owner and top stylist, is absolutely incredible. She seems to have 8 hands as she is able to beautify everyone in there simultaneously. She's by far the most talented, and not to mention most beautiful, hair stylist I have ever come across. Alma turned my boring banker hair-doo into a funky, hip, cutting edge style and I've never looked better and never had so many people tell me so! I could never pay her enough. Oh, and her prices are ridiculously low for what she accomplishes, and in such a quick time frame. Now my mother, brother, 4 friends, and all their girlfriends and boyfriends go. i was refered to them by a friend of mine that models for new york models agency and goes there all the time let me tell you the job that they did was wonderfull i needed alot of things done and they really pampered me i got there and recived my facial with anca and they had to wake me up becouse i fell a sleep alma took care of my color and she is very talented i recived a manicure when nina first and than orlando were working on my hair and what can i say i left very relaxed and filling sexy i would recomend it to everybody that salon rocks Pros: great energy, high quality work, fashionable&trendy more

Great Salon for your money 12/15/2003

Alma is the best - everytime I see her, I get the most amazing highlights and haircut! I have extremely curly hair, and have tried so many different salons in the city. This is the only one that I go back to. If you're up for a dramatic change - you can definitely trust Alma and her stylists. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is very friendly. I like this place , the stylist Alma was very good, she explained the process and made me feel at ease. In fact everyone made me very comfortable. I went for highlights. They look great. Nice suprise 9/10/2002

I was in need of a haircut and color. Not really planing a trip to the hairdresser just yet. I walked by the alma g salon on 21st I went in . The girl who greeted me was very friendly and welcoming. I had a few questions which she took the time to answer and made be feel very much at ease. after a 20 minute chat I decided to get a color and cut. Alma took care of me. The color came out great but to mysuprise the blow was amazing. I have curly hair and she made it pin straight. The complementary glass of wine was a nice touch. a young energtic staff eager to make you feel welcomed. nice comfortable place Pros: no stress, energtic, good service Cons: short staffed more

Too inexperienced and over priced 6/30/2002

When I walked into this salon - I should have just turned around and walked right out. The staff made up of all young people do not have enough experience. I walked in and asked for a single color process. Instead of handing me a gown and showing me a to place my bag and change, the colorist wanted to put just a shmatte over my head. They call themselvers hair color experts - well the color that they put on my head kept dripping and running into my ears, all over my face and neck. I also asked for a dark brown and ended up with a midnight black, which feels lousy and dry to the touch. When they want to charge an additional $35 for a blow dry. Never again!
