Thai Spice is hot. Delivery slow BUT WORTH IT

As an asian person, this is not the most highly recommended Thai restaurant in Houston. I've been their twice, only because of convenience. But, after the last meal I had there,...

Yuck. Calamari was rubber and the side of sauce opened and dumped all over. Back was dripping. Shrimp in stir fry was dry and looked like it was cooked on a dirty grill. Two bites and threw the whole order out (excluding the soda). more

Great Lunch Buffet! 10/17/2011

Thai Spice in the Village offers an incredible lunch buffet so you can try several different dishes offered on the menu. I started with the Tom Yum soup, a shrimp soup flavored with lemon grass herbs, mushrooms, lime & chili-Delicious. The yellow curry with chicken was outstanding! Like another reviewer, I agree, their Pad Thai is the best I have tried! Everything tasted so fresh and if you go for lunch, go early because it seems to be very popular. They also have a great outdoor patio upstairs. Great food, atmosphere, friendly staff and convenient location. more

One of the better Thai restaurants in Houston 12/31/2009

We've eaten here several times and I have enjoyed everything we have ordered. Nobody makes better Padh Thai in my opinion. Please please ask for their peanut sauce, its to die for. I have tried several Thai restaurants, and they all have different versions of classics, and this is the place for me. I like the vibe of this restaurant, its laid back and they have cute Thai pieces here and there (but they could make it more ethnic looking). The waitstaff is always friendly and every time we have gone its been busy. Pros: everything was delicious more

They false advertised their special and said it was for another location. Then the food was not good at all. Should have known because it was lunch time and there was only about 10 ppl in the whole resturant Pros: clean restroom more

Not the most authentic thai 1/23/2009

As an asian person, this is not the most highly recommended Thai restaurant in Houston. I've been their twice, only because of convenience. But, after the last meal I had there, I don't plan to go back. I'm still searching for a good Thai restaurant here. Pros: Location Cons: Food more

Consistently Great Thai Fare 3/23/2008

""As1an"" commented in his/her review that the un-fried rolls didn't seem fresh. And the decor isn't to this person's liking either. What this person didn't offer is specificity, so I can hardly take the review seriously. What a lame characterization of the truly fresh assortment (shrimp, chicken, veggie) of spring rolls offered. They're served with peanut and fish sauce and make a great starter. Do not miss these rolls! My boyfriend loves the drunken chicken, which is served with onions and bell peppers swimming in a light brown sauce. I love the pad thai dishes with beef and veggies and the spicy shrimp soup. The wait staff are gracious and attentive. We either dine in or take out 3 times per month. Thai Spice is a stellar restaurant for those with a genuine appreciation for fresh, authentic Thai food. Pros: soft spring rolls, excellent service, prompt seating, friendly staff Cons: grammatically challenged individuals writing culinary reviews more

Best Thai food in town 3/23/2006

Best thai buffet with a good variety of flavorful dishes. Definetly the place to take your friends for a good time, good food, and good service. more

User review by as1an 3/5/2005

Thai Spice has one of the best Thai curries in the business, but I would think twice about their spring rolls (the one that isn't fried). It didn't seemed fresh to me compared to the ones I had at different Thai restaurants. The place also needs some decorating advice from Thai Sticks if they want to be in the competitive edge. more

Great Thai Food 7/11/2003

My favorite Thai place in town. They have a great selection of items ranging from spicey to mild, their prices are also great. Try the dinner special, it's great. Pros: Inexpensive more

Weekly Ritual 6/18/2003

My family and I have been going to Thai Spice since it opened. The amazing food and the friendly service have kept us coming back (weekly)!!! Their chicken and peanut sauce beats all the other Thai restaurants I've been to, and the ginger beef, garlic shrimp, pineapple-fried rice and nom sod are all uniquely flavored and well worth trying. You really can't go wrong here because everything is great. Try the lunch buffet for lots of variety or dinner special (from 5-7pm every day) for an extremely good deal. more

Fantastic Spot 4/22/2003

Great food, good service, reasonable prices. Haven't had anything bad on the menu. Sauces are wonderful, peanut is the best it just needs a little more heat. Soups are a must have. Tom Yum!!! Pros: food, location, setting Cons: wait more

Great Lunch Buffet 9/22/2002

Thai Spice has a great lunch buffet with various selections of chicken, fried rice and pad thai amongst other dishes. It's priced reasonably and has a pleasant atmosphere: simple, not too noisy. On a really nice day, you can sit outside on the balcony and view the cars going by while eating. Don't forget the sunglasses! more

Tasty! 8/6/2002

They have delicious pineapple fried rice and their spicy foods are perfect! I love the atmosphere and service. The thai iced tea is yummy and ask for the dish that comes out in a swan, it's goooood!! Pros: Hot, flavorful food, Inexpensive, Patio Cons: Closed from 2-5 more

best value and best thai food 8/2/2002

In my opinion, Thai Spice is one of the best values in Houston. The all-you-can-eat lunch buffet offers a wide selection of appetizers, entrees, fruits, salads and deserts. The buffet is also constantly restocked so the food is fresh. The early-bird special (5-7 pm) offers an appetizer, soup, entree and dessert combo for $7.50. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. I recommend the chicken and peanut sauce, pad thai, nam sod, summer rolls, winter cheese rolls and chicken sate. more
