Thai Ginger - Factoria

This is a small and busy place, but it is busy for a reason. First, it dishes out pretty good Thai food for a pretty reasonable price. Second, the location is pretty good, if you are in Factoria. Not a lot of great dining choices there, in my opinion, so I can see why people flock to this place at lunchtime. We go there to grab a bite before a movie (it is very close to Factoria Cinemas) so the quick service has actually been helpful. more

While I rate Thai Siam in Ballard as my favorite Thai food restaurant, Thai Ginger in Factoria is a good choice when I don't want to leave the Eastside. Service is friendly and helpful. The food is generally delicious and I am usually pleased with the Swimming Rama. Parking is cramped and seating can be very tight during the busy lunch crowd. I recommend getting their early or arriving for a late lunch. more

I just got back from this place this night and I thought the food was very tasty. I think I will come here again for its larger plate sizes and nice people. The prices are a little high. One of the noodle plates was $12. Not much complaints though if you want good thai food, nice servers more

I occasionally dine at Thai Ginger for lunch, as I work in the area near Factoria. The selection of Thai Restaurants on the Eastside is poor to begin with, and working in that context Thai Ginger delivers good food for what you'd expect from an Eastside establishment. Lunchtime is crowded, however I never wait longer than 5-10 mins to be seated. The selection of food is fairly standard~noodle & curry dishes are highlighted, and all are good. However, nothing on the menu has yet to wow me. In contrast, nothing I've tasted has yet disappointed me either. My main disappointment is the Tum-yum soup that is nowhere to be found on the lunch menu. Service is rushed, which is a plus if you're interested in dining & dashing. However, even so, you feel as though you're just a table to be turned rather than a valued customer~especially as the bill is delivered with the meal on most occasions. Asking for a refill (or even the fact that you need to ask for a refill) is like pulling teeth out of a lion. Thai Ginger generally offers good food and a standard selection, but the service could stand to see an overhaul. more

This place is mobbed during lunch hour, since it's located in Factoria, but if you go a bit early (11:30) or late (1pm) you'll find you can get a table and really quick service. The food is good and spicy and the employees are efficient and friendly. The building is really tiny so there aren't that many tables. Try ordering to-go instead. more

I just finished visiting Thai Ginger today and was pleased to taste such flavorful Thai food. The Shrimp and Pineapple Curry was excellent and the Ocean Noodle soup was good too. The prices are a little higher than nearby Thai restaurants, but the generous portions and taste more than make up for the extra dollar you spend. more

Thai Ginger in Factoria is the most delicious Thai you'll find on the eastside. The atmosphere is small and cozy and stylish. The food is fresh and flavorful. The service is terrific, friendly and warm and fast. Don't miss the green curry, it is unbeatable. And the Phad Thai is one of the best I've had. Defnitely check it out, you wont be sorry! more

I recently had lunch at Thai Ginger in Factoria. This restaurant is one of the best for Thai food in the area. With every meal you get a complimentary bowl of hot sour soup which is delicious. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the food is authentic. My favorite Thai food is Pad Thai and they definitely have one of the best around. This spot can be crowded sometimes as there are a ton of businesses around and a good lunch crowd. I would recommend getting there before the rush at 12. Fast service and great food! more

If you are on the Eastside and driving to the U-District for Thai Tom's is just not an option, Thai Ginger is a great substitute. My only complaint was that the calamari appetizer was not as big as expected. The server described a large plate full - enough for three. In reality, the appetizer was no bigger than my fist and could easily be devoured by a slightly overweight seafood lover like myself. more
