This place is an absolute "hole in the wall" treasure. I've ordered from them a number of times and this place really delivers on flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, not processed and the aromas and spices are spot on. You have to try their Samosas, they are as addictive as they are delicious. The butter chicken just melts in your mouth and the vegetable bryiani was surprisingly good with great big chunks of veggies in it, exceeding our expectations by far. The veggie cutlets are a little on the greasy side but the flavor explodes in your mouth. The chicken tikki is bright and flavorful and the chicken has always been moist in every dish we've tried, never dry. Pay attention to the spicy scale, medium is right around what you usually get when you ask for "hot" at most other places and then convince them that you really do mean "hot". more

DO NOT EAT HERE! 9/8/2011

My husband and I brought two friends into the restaurant Saturday evening around 6:30 pm, Sept 3, 2011. Except for our party, the restaurant was empty. The owners would not honor our valid $50.00 certificate that we had purchased online from restaurant/com. After speaking to the owners they said they stopped taking the certificates 3 days before and that was it! I ask why, and said if they were not going to honor the certificate we would take our business and leave ... so we did! I contacted restaurant/com directly and they apologized for Thai & Indian Cuisine RUDENESS and the inconvenience it caused us. They compensated us and said the restaurant has a signed contract with them and obligated to honor all the certificates. If you want service, DO NOT EAT HERE!!! We will never go back! more

OK Thai restaurant.. good food, insufficient portions 7/31/2007

Me and my friend decided to try this restaurant earlier today, based on the reviews I read here promising abundant portions and excellent food. Well, we got there by noon, and we were the first customers. That was a bad signal (later on a couple more tables were occupied). I ordered Pepper Steak, from the lunch menu. It was good, but the portion super small. And my friend's Cashew Chicken was also insufficient. But his food was also good. Service was good too. I'd go again if I am not too hungry.. Pros: Food quality Cons: Portion size, ambience more

First Timer 4/6/2006

I love thai food and have not been able to find a favorite in Houston...until today!! The food was great and the service matched. I would have paid twice the price of the lunch specials ($5-7), this food was so great!! The menu is very extensive and will have something for every taste. I will definitely be back very soon and very often. Pros: Inexpensive , large portions, great service Cons: old furniture more

Long time patron 8/23/2005

I've eaten at the Thai Cafe for over 15 years. Same location, same great food... any new person who has never had thai is brought on site immediately. Recently returned from Thailand, and the best thai food I've ever had has always been at the Cafe. Pattaya Fish.... yummm!!!! Pros: Excellent food, friendly service, atmosphere more
