My daughter-In-Law and I had the pleasure of lunch while shopping last week and would like to commend you on your top shelf beef, rolls, service and all that goes with a good lunch. Tessaro's has a very casual bar-like atmostphere. Although there are other things to choose from on the menu, their burgers are the best. You can watch the chefs hand-mold each burger before they are cooked. You don't have to argue with anyone if you like your burger any less than well-done. THE reason to eat red meat!!! 8/8/2002

Tessaro's is something of an institution in Pittsburgh. It is a family restaurant in the Italian neighborhood of Bloomfield. The atmosphere is friendly and casual and there is a designated non-smoking area which is really cozy in a little back room with a fireplace that is a nice touch in the winter. Now to get down to business--This restaurant is one of two reasons that I started eating red meat again, the other is that a close friend is a gourmet chef ( I know, poor me). The burgers are the best that I've had in a restaurant. The man in charge of the special blend of cuts of beef grinds meat twice a day so you know it's fresh. Everything's cooked over a hardwood grill. Try the tuna rare. The chicken, steaks and swordfish or salmon are great as well! It's worth the wait. Best burger humanly possible! 8/8/2002

Shortly after I had moved to Pittsburgh, I helped a friend move from one apartment to another. For this, she treated me to a burger at Tessaro's. A little more than a year later we were married. Maybe that's a bit too much credit to attribute to a humble hamburger, but all that aside, Tessaro's makes far and above the best burger anywhere. more

Best Burgers! Hands Down! 8/3/2002

The best Burger, Steak, Chicken in Pgh! The servers and very friendly, especially the day-time staff! Nite servers have a been-there-done that attitude, but are efficient nonetheless. The food is impeccable. Soups made daily by a local old-timer are wonderful. All meals are cooked to order over wood-fire are made repeatedly to exact customer expectations, a great reward after dealing with the wait in a hot as Hates enviroment. Get some A/C Kelly! No other rest. in Pgh is this hot! All in all a wonderful experience. Having been a server for many of my younger years, due to the heat, I feel bad for Kellys girls, but they do have a guaranteed awesome income due to the crowded lines out the door. Ever hear of shorts or polo shirts? It is the year 2002! more

I work up the road at West Penn Hospital and when we are hungry for a great burger, we ALWAYS go to Tessaro's. They are the best!!!! I would recommend them to everyone I know. more

I can only say I like the burgers, b/c that is all I have ever had from this place. The food is great, but the dining area is a bit small. It is not that big of a deal though. Burger with a beer, can't beat it! more

The best and the quickest 7/23/2002

Tessaro's can be crowded and the wait can be long if the line is out the door, but it is worth it. The point of the story, be hungry, know what you want and how you want it, eat it and move on. It is a fast paced busy little burger joint in your back yard. But it is worth it for every last juicy bite. Itsn't that how a great burger House is supposed to be? Pros: Inexpensive, prompt seating, service Cons: parking, can be crowded, rushed sometimes more

Hands down the best burger around! Everything on the menu is fabulous and always fresh, but the burger is the best. It has that charming neighborhood feel of Bloomfield... the staff is really friendly and everyone is great. One of my favorite places to go... definitely worth the wait for a table!
