Editorial review from Citysearch 8/7/2012

Great place! Great service! I have been doing business with Taylor's for about a year now. They have gone out of their way to take care of my BMW vehicle, as well as taking care of me by working with my schedule. Keith and Frank really know how to make you feel valued as a customer. more

These guys saved the day! 2/22/2012

I'm from Virginia and was in Mooresville visiting a girlfriend when the battery in my 2008 Mercedes died. It was a Sunday. The tow truck took my car to Taylor's... At my girlfriends house I was able to go online and visit Taylor's website...it was awesome. Because of the great site, I was able to send an email explaining what my car was doing there and I was also able to see that they've been in business, successfully, for a very long time. The website made it so I could sleep comfortably knowing I'd be back on the road Monday. Not only was I back on the road, but these guys were all friendly, courtious and quick to my situation handled. If I lived in Mooresville, I'd take my car there all of the time. more

Can't believe how I was yelled and cursed at by the owner! 1/9/2012

A great experience 11/11/2011

We were traveling visitng friends in the area. Our vehicle broke down near Taylor's import garage. I walked back to the shop told what happened they went and got the car right then checked it out and found it to be something simple (as far as cars go). They fixed it right then. The staff and owner were very cordial and served us fresh donuts and coffee. Our friends came by to pick us up but by the time they got there my car was fixed. When I got home I called several local garages to see what it would cost to fix the same thing and they were about 33% higher than what Taylor's charged. Since then my friends carry all their cars to Taylors and haven't regretted it. Thanks to all the staff at Taylors for a enjoyable experience, I can't say enough about the service and experience we had. more

Only one place I take my car, not here. 7/19/2011

I have had horrible experiences frequently all over this area since I've been here since '06. It just seems nobody is competent enough for their profession here. I have found a good place finally in Statesville which is a 30 min drive, but its worth it. If you are going to take your import somewhere,m take it to R&R Auto off of Old Mountain Rd. Their labor rate is exceptionally reasonable and they do you right. Which I cannot say for many others in this business anywhere these days. more

Fixed my car 9/5/2009

Taylors is not cheap. They speicalize in imports, and I believe that is a big part of the costs. However they do a good job and try to do it as fast as possible. They always keep me informed on price and when the job will be finished. Pros: Got it done right the first time Cons: Took an extra day due to wrong part more

Taylor's 7/31/2009

I would never return. They wanted to charge double what other shops were. Cons: overpriced more

Competent & well informed 7/16/2009

Rational working through an intermittent flaw, very impressive work Pros: All personnel were articulate and capable more

Excellent Service 4/14/2009

My experience with local shops including the dealership since moving to this area has been painful. Glad I found Taylor's because the service has been great and the staff is knowledgable. They answer all of my questions and their followup is unmatched. more

awesome shop great staff 3/28/2009

i had to get a turbo rebuilt for my Nissan 240sx. Being as it is my only car Keith mad sure he had it done within just a few days. They bent over backwards to make sure i could get back on the road. I would recommend this shop to anyone. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

The best Repair Shop in the Charlotte Metro Area 3/28/2009

I live 45 miles from this shop and believe me this is the only place that I will let work on my car. They have done everything from clutch change, motor overhauls and alignments. All done professionally, on time and within the estimate given. I have never in the 15 years of service from Taylor's had to return my car for and mistakes or reworks. Believe me in this day and time, you cannot find a better repair shop! Pros: Fast, Friendly, Echonomical, and Dependable more

Taylors did me right 5/15/2008

I had a 1996 Honda Prelude that had the timing belt snap. Broken timing belt is typically the kiss of death but the guys at Taylors took care of things at a real reasonable price. This was 8-9 years back but I was happy Pros: Great price and fixed it first time Cons: nothing more

Terrible 9/17/2007

Similar to the other reviewer here, though to a greater financial degree, I have found Taylor's to be most frustrating to deal with, and I still have a car without a working thermostat that overheats. Over three separate repairs spanning 9 months, I spent $2200 to have my 1991 Alfa Spider ""fixed"". I have to drive from Salisbury as this is the nearest foreign car garage--so it's a royal pain to get there. Each time, something ""new"" is wrong with the car. They didn't fix the overheating problem the first time, so the second time--surprise! My fourth cylinder blew. This last time, they claimed that they fixed the (brand new) thermostat, but failed to mention that there's ""something wrong with my dashboard panel"" and the gauge doesn't work. Well, the thermostat is NOT fixed, the car is STILL overheating, and after $2200, I have an undrivable vehicle. And the kicker? Someone pilfered the gear shift and replaced it with another, lesser quality one the last time it was there. Weird, I know, but I do know that I didn't change out the gear shift cover--the owner wanted me to ""drive it in so he could take a look at it"". Um....no. It's a $50 part. You lost it, you replace it. Who knows if I'll ever get it replaced. Additionally, they had my car for 6 WEEKS this summer. Yep, 6 WEEKS--and when it was finally finished (when we were gone on vacation) and I couldn't drive over and get it until the end of the week, the owner had the gall to tell me he was going to start charging me a storage fee if I didn't pick it up by Friday. Seriously? After having my car for 6 weeks? Bottom line--don't take your car here. It's hands down the worst auto ""repair"" experience I've ever had...and I do use that term ""repair"" loosely. Cons: You name it. more

Frustrating service with zero satisfaction from multiple visits 2/7/2007

My experience with Taylor's Sports-N-Imports was very frustrating and the worst service I have had from any other place I have taken my '99 Audi A4. My car problem: A drivers side window that would not always roll all the way up and sometimes not roll up at all. Over the course of three visits (one being to have their mechanic fix a door lock problem he caused while taking apart my door) all I walked away with was $500 out of my pocket, a window that still does not work properly, gas out of my tank for making the trip back to them to fix the door lock their mechanic broke plus the fee they charged me for fixing it. Steve, their service writer would not even concede that the mechanic messed up the lock in person after apologizing over the phone and saying he would refund the money. On my last visit, after the window was not fixed his solution was to just call everything even and not pay a refund. How he thought after everything that happened we could call it all even just blwos my mind. Needless to say I can not recommend Taylor's to anyone as I would not put my worst enemy through that type of aggrevation. Good mechanics are hard to come by and you would be better off by not wasting your time (and money) in Mooresville for your import. Pros: none from my experience Cons: paid money- nothing fixed more
