Getting better 11/18/2005

Without a doubt, "the Tavern" has the best harbor side view of the Boston skyline. Unfortunately, it never had food to match. Now, that is changing with new ownership, and a gradually updating menu with fresh ingredients and excellent preparation. Even in the throes of winter, the Tavern is a cozy spot, and it is also a great place to watch the Pats. Great for burgers, and also excellent dinner specials featuring fresh seafood. Come in the summer time, and you will feel transported to your favorite seaside vacation spot! more

Great view for a cool, laid back bar! 9/9/2005

Yes, they might serve the mixed drinks in plastic cups and the beers in cans, but the view of the city from the Charlestown side overlooking the harbor simply can't be beat! Non-pretentious aptmosphere--- no typical downtown snobbiness here! Decor is nautical themed--- kinda cheesy but adorable at the same time. Servers and bartenders are friendly and efficient. The no-frills aptmosphere is a great place to meet friends out for a casual Friday night. more
