Can only comment on apps and on the beer as that is what we went for. The beer menu was great and the choices of finger foods in the bar was great.

Privately Owned Gem 3/23/2006

Despite the recent explosion of corporate chain restaurants and bars that have invaded downtown Bellevue over the last few months, the Tap House remains one of the great hot spots on the East Side. In addition to 160 beers on tap (who else even comes close?) the food and decor here are excellent. Who said it's not kid-friendly? They have a kids menu! Is the service always perfect? Of course not, but neither is the service at any other place in town. Is it a little pricey? Compare it to it's local competitors and it's completely appropriate. If you're checking out these ratings because you've never been to the Tap House and you're considering doing so, take the plunge. The Tap House is oustanding, unique, and locally owned. And did I mention.... 160 BEERS ON TAP?!?!?!! Pros: Beer Selection, Cocktails, Food Quality more

Amazing range of beer choices, tasty menu options 12/2/2005

The 160 brews offered by Tap House Grill could keep even the most selective beer lover happy for some time. You could go here once a week for a few years and try a new beer each time with no repeats. Menu offerings range from seafood and pasta to tasty (almost comfort-food) chicken and similar dishes. It's difficult not to find something you'll like here; daily specials cover a wide range of tastes as well. Service is generally excellent but can be indifferent sometimes, particulary at the outdoor tables. They're first come, first served, and the servers at those tables hold a certain grand apathy toward timely stopping by tables with new diners -- we waited 20 minutes one time, and only a request to speak with the manager finally brought a server to our table. Pros: Beer selection, Varied menu, Bellevue location Cons: Spotty service, Sometimes loud more

Worst place for Service - food just ok 10/27/2005

Just had the worst experience that I've ever had at a restaurant. Service was slow, rude and inconsiderate. There's so many other great places to go, I will never go back. more

HORRIBLE service, decent food. 7/20/2005

Every time I have been here, the service is HORRIBLE. Last Sunday night when I went for a couple of drinks, the bar wasn't busy but our waiter never came back to check on us. Instead he sat at a bar table and chatted it up with some friends. Then he left for the night without checking on us. After waiting for 45 minutes for our check (we had one drink!!), we had to flag down another server. After 5 more minutes of waiting, we just decided to go ask the manager for our check. We told him our situation and how mad we were for getting horrible service, and he didn't care or even say sorry. He just handed us our check. This is the first time I have ever NOT left a tip for a server, and the last time I will ever go to this bar! Pros: nice decor, location Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE!, over priced, no happy hour on Beer more

Remind me to bring my gas mask next time 3/31/2005

Ugh, just what I want - loads of smokers ruining my beer. Granted, you can hardly get away from it these days, but when a place prides itself on serving beers from all over the world, it would be nice to be able to taste them in an appropriate atmosphere. Also, the price they charge for samples of beer is rediculous (over 9$ for 4 tastes!). Any other brew pub in the city wouldn't dare. The service and the food are alright I guess, although they aren't really a driver for me to come back. Pros: lots of beer Cons: SMOKY!!, Overpriced samplers, crowded more

Avoid this dive 3/24/2005

This place is way overpriced and the service is terrible. I usually don't bother to complain to the manager or write bad reviews, but today's service was horrible. After getting ignored by the waitress and having her deliver the wrong order, we asked for the manager. The manager could've cared less. The food is OK, but the beer is way overpriced. After visiting four times, I'm afraid this was my last visit. Life's too short to put up with poor service and mediocre food. It is truly a dive. Pros: Beer Selection Cons: Poor Service, Mediocre food, Expensive more

Great Happy Hour! 3/10/2005

Tap House service may be lacking a little but you can't beat their happy hour! Most of their menu items are priced at $2.95+ for sushi rolls, salads, appetizers, etc. Great price for good food! It's a fun, upbeat atmosphere where a lot of professionals go after work for a drink. Their normal food for lunch & dinner is really great too. Overall it's a great place to meet friends for drinks, lunch or dinner. I'd reccomend it. And now they actually validate your parking for the entire time you've been there instead of just an hour! Pros: happy hour prices, food Cons: crowded, service more

Tap House: get over yourself 10/24/2004

The Taphouse has a cool interior, the coolest in Bellevue probably. But the service is horrible. Awful. THE ABSOLUTE WORST. The food is way overpriced for the quality. If you get a smile from a waitress you are lucky. If you get a waitress who comes back to check on you when your food arrives you've not eaten at the same restaurant I have. And don't expect a manager comes when the cocktail waitress losses your credit card either. But if you give her your name and phone number she'll call you as soon as she finds it. Pros: cool interior Cons: , price, overcrowded more

More impressed than I thought I would be 10/1/2004

We came on a Friday night for beer and burgers. The place was crowded and a little loud, but that's fine, it's a beerhouse. We ordered a custom beer sampler, which was fun, even if we did not like them all. When we left two samplers nearly untouched, our waittress (who was fantastic and friendly) was nice enough to bring us two replacement samplers. The burgers we ordered were thick and juicy, the fries were good and fresh skin-on potatoes. When the bill came, we paid with credit, forgetting we should have broken a large bill to pay for the remaining $1 for parking. When we asked our waittress to break the bill, she asked how much parking was and then gave us $1 out of her own pocket, telling us ""if you break it you'll just spend it, so take this."" We were floored! Great experience. We'll be back! Pros: Great food, Great burgers, Great service more

Great Beer, Terrible Food 9/14/2004

I love this place, but plan on eating somewhere else. The food is all-around bad. The pasta's and stew are especially to be avoided. The sushi is pretty unremarkable and below average (cold beef in the 'Kansas City' roll?) and only worth theprice during happyhour. If you must order food the calamari is okay (if its freshly friend and hasn't been sitting around--a gamble!) and the french dip roast beef sandwhich is pretty good. On to the beer- I have tried many new beers here. The bartenders are very knowledgable, but stay away from their special beers list. US$7.50 for a 250ml bottle of Hoegaarden? My advice is stick to the normal beers- there are plenty to chose from! The crowd is usually young and semi-professional. Nobody goes out for a night at the Tap House, but it is a great place to go before you go out somewhere else. Pros: 160 beers (or more), Cheap happy hour food more

Terrible experience 8/22/2004

The fire alarm went off for a half hour (and apparently this happens a lot). It was horribly annoying and nobody ever bothered to apologize. Also, the server messed up our bill, and when we asked the manager about it he said he wasn't going to do anything about it. Me: So you're telling me that you screwed up, and the customer is paying for it? Manager: I'm not going to argue with you (then walks away) Service was remarkably poor. The 160 beers on tap is cool, but they couldn't care less about their customers and the food isn't anything special. Pros: Beer selection Cons: , Management, Atmosphere more

Great atmosphere, horrible service! 4/11/2004

I like the feel of this bar - great decor, always a good crowd, awesome beer selection, cheap Happy Hour fare, BUT the service is AWFUL. Consistantly RUDE wait staff. At least they're consistant - I know when I patronize this bar I can depend on rotten service. Also, they seem to have trouble with keeping their tabs straight, I regularly find that I've been overbilled for my drinks. Nevertheless, the ambience brings me back - I'd reccomend the place so long as you watch your tab closely and don't plan on leaving a tip. Pros: Ambience, Beer Selection, Happy Hour Food Menu Cons: , No drink specials more

Variety but.... 4/25/2003

160 beers, yes. Nothing terribly exotic, but something for nearly everyone. No frosted mugs, but then only pale lagers should be served ""ice cold."" Service at the bar is good, have not patronized the restaurant part. Food is an eclectic mix. At one time we ordered an artichoke ""dip"" that was billed as being served with pita wedges. Well, we got tortilla chips. Cook must have been a little lazy that day. Pros: Variety, Convenient Cons: Pricey, Snooty more
