Best

Tam's continue to be the best Chinese food period. My hubby absolutely loves the Mongolian beef combo plate. He has this approx. once a week. I enjoy the green beans in black b...

Worst

The food was a little better than average. Some of Tam's dishes are quite good and some of the dishes are not so good. I'm not sure why the inconsistency in food quality exists.

Tam's Restaurant 9/19/2009

Awesome Food! Great Sweet N Sour Pork. The restaurant has a very clean and relaxing environment to eat in. Also close to the beach, for a nice walk afterwards. more

Try It; You'll Probably Like It! 3/25/2008

I have been to Chinatown, and Tam's is just as good if not better! The Szechuan Chicken was outstanding. I ate there alone for lunch, but I'd love to go back with a group and try lots of things. Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Never, ever make a mistake of coming here!!! 10/27/2007

This is by far the worst chinese food ever. My boyfriend & I tried this place due to the rave reviews & got so disappointed and made me soooo very mad. People who don't know what chinese food should not be allowed to write reviews. Go to Chinatown and learn what Chinese food should taste like! Pros: none Cons: everything more

Excellent food, good prices 11/8/2006

Having lived in Pacifica for over 15 years, finding Tams was a pleasure. Their food is very good, expecially their shrimp dishes, you can't beat their Orange shrimp. The shrimp are fresh, tasty, and well spiced. I had a birthday dinner for my husband for 20 some guests, and everyone was pleased by the meal, including me, when the bill arrived. Their lunch selection is also excelent, as well as a reasonable price for a lunch rice plate. more

Huge Amounts of Good Food 9/5/2006

Tam's, in the Safeway shopping plaza, is some seriously good food. And lots of it. We ordered two dishes, the Mandarin Beef and the "Four Happiness", and we got enough food for four people. With potstickers for an appetizer, a pineapple juice and a Tsingtao beer, plus the obligatory white rice, the bill still came out at only about $40.\r \r And it was really tasty, I particularly liked the Mandarin Beef. I just wish these guys delivered, but I drive past them on the way home, and they do take out, hmm...\r \r The restaurant is fairly spacious, and seating is readily available (we went on a Sunday night before, night before Labor Day, and it was busier than I've ever seen it, and yet still had plenty of tables available). Forks and chopsticks are provided as a standard place setting. There's a small bar, and their menu includes several mixed drinks (I can remember seeing pina coladas and strawberry daquiris listed). Parking is plentiful in the plaza's parking lot, and access from Rt more

This is by far my all time favorite Chinese food 3/25/2006

Tam's has got to be the best tasting Chinese cuisine I have ever had. I have tried many other restaurants and nothing compares to Tam's. The service is fast and the food comes in large abundance-quickly, steaming hot and delicious. This is the place where my family meets for most all special occasions. If you haven't tried Tam's you should make it a point to get there. You will not be dissappointed. Pros: great food, good location, good service more

so bad! 2/1/2006

The ambiance in this place is like an empty concert hall, cold and loud! Everyone was wearing jackets, it was very cold insided. Pros: good parking more

The Best Chinese Food 11/3/2005

The food at Tams is not only the best tasting chinese food I have ever eaten, it is also tastes extremely fresh. It is a family owned business, and the Tams are a pleasure to have in our community. The portions are large, and if you go in for a meal, you always always have left overs. I highly recommend it. It is also right off the freeway so you can order out, pick it up and jump right back on the Freeway, which makes for great convience. Try Tams you won't be disappointed. We eat there weekly. Pros: large portions, location convient, Service Great more

Tam's Chinese is the BEST! 6/1/2005

I've been a customer of Tam's for about 11 years now. I've eaten in San Francisco (lived there for 7 years) and on the Peninsula and I've found none that meet the freshness, quality and value of Tam's Cuisine. The prices are a bit higher than the hole in the wall hinese restaurants, but it is quickly apparent why: high quality ingredients! Their food is consistently excellent. Their service is outstanding. It is a family owned restaurant in Pacifica, and the friendliness of their owners and staff makes me feel welcome every time I visit them. I've become a take-out fanatic, stopping at Tam's weekly. Try their hot/sour soup, won ton soup, shrimp fried rice, broccoli beef (yum!), and the Ming beef (sweet and tangy). Definitely fresh! Definitely worth it! Pros: fresh ingredients, quick service, beautiful decor Cons: cost (worth it) more

Great food, great service 9/28/2004

Tam's offers really good, fresh food with large portions. When we order take out the portions hardly fit into a regular size chines take out box. Some say it is a bit pricey, but when you see how much food you are getting and teh quality then it's about right. One one entree and one starter is required for a dinner for two. Pros: Food, Service, Location more

Great Food... 1/30/2003

Tam's is a great chinese restaurant. The food is very flavorful and always fresh. The only downfall to Tam's is the prices. Dinner for two can end up costing $40. I have found a way around that though. When I am really craving Tam's I go there for lunch, it is an unbelievable bargain. more

Great Food - Great Service 1/7/2003

We were very excited to discover Tam's in Pacifica. Although a bit more expensive than the restaurants in SF or Oakland Chinatowns, the food at Tam's is always fresh and served in huge portions. In a time where service can often be overlooked, Tam's high level of service matches the food. When calling for take-out, if you have special preferences (less oil, low salt, etc.), the information is kept in a database, so they remember each time! Pros: Great service, Friendly more

Wonderful food! 9/22/2002

The food was wonderful, as was the service. Very large portions - we spent $38 (including tip, 2 people) and came home with a whole extra meal. That's a good value. It being a Sunday night, there were lots of families there, with children of all ages. It did get a bit loud at times. The food had a very good flavor, but none of the supposedly hot items was very spicy. Pros: food was delicious Cons: not spicy, loud more

In the mood for fancy chinese? 8/15/2002

Personally, I typically like the "hole in the wall" type of chinese restraunts, but my wife loves a fancy atmosphere. Tam's has become a great compromise for us. It has great chinese food for me. (try the honey walnut prawns) For my wife, it has a wonderful atmosphere. (If you like things like that.. heh) Service is great--we have been there many times and they have always been great. Pros: Great Service, Nice Environment, Great Eats! Cons: A bit pricey more
