Worst

This place is a dive. The staff is wonderful, but you will be surrounded by creepy people. Plus, there is no beer on tap, only bottles.

Love this place... 7/27/2009

Great menu and food made to perfection. The prices are reasonable, and the neighborhood feel a major plus. This is my first choice for watching all things sports, while enjoying a cold one. I'm thinking the few haters on here had a bone to pick and chose a local business to spew their venom. Love this place 7/27/2009

I love this bar. It is your friendly neighborhood bar. The bartender will remember you after the 1st time you have been in and the other patrons are friendly. This is the type of place I can go into alone and not worry about every little move I make, people watch out for you in here, especially the bartender. I would say those that have something bad to say are probably the type that complain about everything, or did not like their tab after a whole night of drinking...I say try it for yourself! Worst sports bar in Raleigh 7/22/2009

This has to be the worst sports bar in the area. I've been to a number of places and had bad service, but the girl Carrie that was waiting on us was the absolute worst I've ever seen. She had a really nasty attitude and was not atttentive to us at all. Our food took forever, and she seemed more interested in the guys at the bar who were old enough to be her grandfather than she was in providing us with some decent food and decent service. I've been to a lot of places in my life, but I don't think that I've ever seen someone so rude and unhappy before. I will never go back to this place, and judging from how many empty tables there were, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who has made that decision. Great bar to hang with friends and watch a game 6/6/2009

Tailgators is a great bar to go chill by yourself or hang with a group of friends. It is a wonderful combination of your fav. local bar were everyone knows your name and a great place to watch ANY game you want. Drinks are very reasonable and best of all, Every Thursday night is 50% off night. Thats right half off all drinks is a great thing no matter how you look at it. Kari the bartender will take great care off you and her dad is hilarious! Stop by and check it out....Cant think of any other bar in the area hooking you up with great drink specials. Great Around the Corner Sprots Bar 1/16/2008

Love the area for the game. Its a nice place to sit and watch the game without being bothered and the beers priced well and they have tons of selections lots on tap. Karaoke is always fun on tuesday and friday. They also had the pool tounments on wed. I really enjoy the bar. I didnt appreiciate the other on hear just trashing a place just cause you didnt get exactly what you want. I cant go to many places and use american express, I mean really how hard is it to use a different card. And does it really matter where the owner came from or what he retired from. oh and the staff is a lot of fun they actually seem to be having fun being there and if your by yourself they usually make you feel at home. I would recommend this bar to anyone. Pros: personable staff, great bar food Cons: Dont have any more

Lousy Service, Fooid and Atmosphere 10/11/2007

This place must have changed hands. Stopped in about a year ago and the crowd was good and the food okay. When I asked if they took AMEX the owner pointed to the inhouse ATM and told me he couldn't ""afford"" to accept credit cards. When I suggested that he might want to change his policy because it could discourage customers from coming in, he said he was a retired eye doctor and wasn't worried about losing any business..... What a dump! 10/10/2007

I love how it is so obvious that the owner is the only one who wrote a stunning review for this place. Believe me, this is probably the last whole in the wall you would ever want to grab a beer in Raleigh. The owner walks around this place with a cigar hanging out of his mouth like he's big cheese. Even when he walks back into the kitchen. All the TV's are at least 15 years old and they are clumped together on chairs and tables. It looks worse than my dirty, unorganized garage. The food is terrible and overpriced. We went there to watch football and left after the first half. The place is always empty and for good reason. I normally give places a fair shake but this place is just ridiculous. I'm suprised its still in business. Don't even waste your time. It is a disgrace!!! Pros: There are a lot of places to eat on nearby Capital Blvd, so you will have some place to go when you leave. Cons: There is not enough room to list all the Cons!!! more

Wow, reading the reviews I am shocked. what a great bar me and my friends found a month ago...16 draft beers (some so new) every sport game playing and great people..we have been to this bar Friday's and had a blast with there Karaoke show. Saturdays watching their live bands and Thursday drinking with my co-workers listening to dual piano's ( didn't have to go downtown, rate here in N.Raleigh).....I would have to say check this bar out and judge yourself...Great place and the staff makes you feel welll taken care of...(The bartender was voted 2007 best bartender) The food is very good and they have a 98 Sanitation Score (the very first thing I check out...) \r Check this bar out.... more

SLOW SERVICE HIGH PRICES 8/11/2006

The drinks here cost more than at the Ale House, which is already too much. (17 dollars for a double shot and a beer) This place is small and crowded. There were some crazy people in here last night, including some man who was making innappropriate comments about other guests. The clientel here are a scary bunch. The female bartender was nice enough, but the male was rude to me. If you like hole in the wall bars then go, but this place is a dump and I will never go back. more

Great New Hot Spot 8/12/2005

Tailgaters----Is a great new hot spot...very clean, Tv's everywhere you look. The bar is fully stocked with what I would think every kind of mixed drink you could think of..We stopped and had a blast listening to the live band and dancing on the new dance floor. New Owner Effective July 1, 2005 8/6/2005

Tailgaters changed ownership and management in July 2005. The interior has been repainted and redone, and everyone on the staff is new. (And extremely helpful!) It is very clean, the beer is cold, the food is not very expensive, yet quick and good. The buffalo wings are the best - You can get as many as you want, with all kinds of different sauces. The onion rings run a close second. They have live bands on Wed, Fri, and Sat; Karaoke on Tues; and World Tavern Poker tournaments on Mon and Thurs nights. Heard that they will have the satellite NFL football package and also the college football & basketball packages. Lots of tvs, plenty of room to watch everything that's happening. Give'em a try! I wouldn't mind going back, but it wasn't one of the best ever. Four dart boards and plenty of pool tables. The service was a bit slow. The menu was standard American. Good selection of beer and alcohol. more

great place to catch all the games..10' screen is cool to watch football on. Friday night always has great bands( my fav..Rocco's Collar!). Tues and Sat is a blast with Karaoke. Pros: fun, large tv, good food more
