A year later after I discovered this 5/29/2012

A year later after I discovered this restaurant, I'm still in love! They are so consistent with the quality of their food, and they are always very polite when you come in. I've dined in, taken out, and tried the lunch buffet and they have never skimped out on me. The menu includes an appetizing array of signature Indian dishes as well as vegetarian options from the southern part. The garlic naan is heaven. I've had this place once as dinner takeout and several times the lunch buffet. Pros: null Cons: null more

Everything we tasted was excellent, Specially sweet Chocolate Samosa 5/29/2012

Tabla bar is the one of the best restaurants I have been to for Indian food in the area. The place has amazing ambience, great people who serve you, and I love the way they treat you, always soft-spoken and warm. The menu is so wide ranging and the food I tried was amazing. The variety and options in non-veg were just beyond my expectations. Everything tasted just wow. And also Chocolate Samosa was an interesting sweet dish with a twist. I am coming back to try some real food again for sure. more

Catering Reviews 2/9/2012

When you organize or plan a dinner party, private party, business party or wedding, the first thing that comes in your mind is catering company. Because by hiring them you will feel much relaxed as they take care of food, drinks, shopping and cooking etc. It will help you to save a lot of time and energy as well. Pros: null Cons: null more

The worst catering service ever! 1/3/2012

I used this caterer for a wedding that I was planning in Orlando. The first time I called them, they were very nice, but once they got our deposit, they were hard to work with. The chef is the main point of contact for catering and since he is always busy, he is not easy to get a hold of. One time the bride went to the restaurant to meet with him and she waited over an hour before she was told that he would not be able to meet with her. Every time we talked to him and he said that he would call back, he didn?t. I always had to follow up with him. It took 4 phone calls and a visit to the restaurant before he would give us the final price for the catering. Even then, he said ?we will figure it out? until we kept pushing him. Consistently Great 8/24/2010

We have eaten at Tabla multiple times and the food & service are always Great. We are local and this is our favorite Indian restaurant. Tandoori is never dried out and the Nan is exceptional. The servers are glad to offer advice on dishes for the uninitiated. Location in a small hotel is misleading, once inside it has a nice authentic atmosphere. more

Best Indian Cuisine! 9/18/2009

I dined with them this past weekend and I am a regular and I love them more and more. The best thing is the consistency of food and service. They were extremely busy that night and were on top of everything. I ordered a new dish Paneer Akbari and I must say it is the most amazing paneer dish I have ever had. I also tried a special of the day dessert- Veil of Butterscotch, it is like a butterscotch sundae with a lots of fresh fruits and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I personally thanked the Chef for creating something so special! I recommend everyone looking for good Indian food to must visit Tabla. Pros: Yummy food more

WOWZA! Like a diamond in a coal mine. 9/3/2008

Really liked the food. Very well presented, I must say. A little expensive for my taste, but the selection was outstanding and well worth it! Who knew Indian restaurants have full liquor bars?? Usually, I'm used to some passable indian food in a 2-star location but beyond the exterior crappy days inn parking lot, Tabla transports you away from all of that. Like the headline, a DIAMOND in a coal mine. Check out the PRESENTATION of the dishes... very nicely done. One of the dishes was a little heavy on cream, but otherwise well-spiced. I really liked the Masala Mary or the 'Delhi Mary' as our server (who's name is M-something but goes by Mark) had recommended. It used the tomato shorbah (which is served as an amuse bouche upon your arrival) with Absolut Peppar... brilliant! Mark was very knowledgeable and exceedingly doting towards our beck and calls especially with our 3-yr old daughter. He even brought crayons for her and played with her to pass time while we ate. All in all, a very pleasant experience. A definite must on your Orlando travel plans. Pros: Food presentation, service, ambience Cons: Not visible from the main road more

Warm and welcoming! 8/14/2008

As an experienced foodie I am familiar with many types of ethnic cuisine, however I never could get comfortable with Indian food. As a lover of curry, my preferences would lead me to Thai, Chinese, and occasionally even Middle Eastern restaurants to satisfy my cravings. Past experiences with Indian food lead me to surmise that it was heavy, over-spiced, and greasy. Thanks goodness I chanced upon TABLA! Pros: Great staff, delicious Indian cuisine, lovely ambience Cons: No bathrooms in the restaurant, shabby parking lot and lobby area more

Fabulous Ambience & even better service!!! 8/1/2008

As you prepare to enter Tabla, there is a beautiful, Indian-style swing that lets you know that you have arrived. As we enter the doors, we are greeted by our hostess, Miss A. She is a genuinely, sweet lady, who leads the way to the bar and takes the time to explain the menu for us, as we are a bit new to Indian cuisine. We had some really good samosas, which are like empanadas filled with chick peas instead of meat; yummy! My friend loves the "sweet" sauce as she calls it (plum-I believe) but I kind of fancy the "green" or mint sauce-WOW; it wakes your tastebuds right up. I don't remember the proper name, but we are addicted to their Chicken Masala. Creamy sauce with a little kick, great presentation and the Chicken is already cut into bite-size pieces; served with a fragrant rice & finished with a touch of Suracha(hot sauce) on the plate. The desserts are perfectly-portioned for someone like me; I'd say about an ounce or two. I had the Sticky-rice pudding; don't let the name fool you...it tastes just like flan & the consistency is about the same, just a tad thicker. It was soooo good that I will definately be having that again. My friend had an almond cake that was quite yummy. Our bartender, Evelyn, makes a mean-dirty martini, as well as some of the mini-tinis they have. You've got to try them; we consider ourselves liquor officionados, being in the business for over 17yrs and Evelyn knows her craft. All of the staff is very personable and helpful. Shabber, the F&B Director, was extremely helpful in describing the dishes in relation to American and/or Spanish dishes, so we could easily understand. All of the dishes came out exactly as he described, but even prettier! We will not only be having dinner here again (Sunday, as a matter of fact) but will meet up for drinks. The bar has a nice array of liquors, as well as wines, and Shabber says that he plans on expanding the wine list even more. So cheers to them with my fabulous dirty, Ketel One martini! Pros: Ambience, Great Service, Convenience, Prices, Selection Cons: Parking, restroom stalls are small more

Authentic Indian Cuisine and Superior Personal Attention! 7/29/2008

As an American with an insatiable desire for "Curry" in my food (my wife fixes a nice Keema recipe!), I was so blessed to find that my hotel (Days Inn) in Orlando had a restaurant with authentic Indian cuisine. During our 5 day visit to Disney World, we ate 4 times at the restaurant! Not only was the food excellent, but the service was even better. The Chief Chef, Shabber, made it a point to visit briefly with each customer, and other staff like Evelyn, Aruna and others made you feel like family. Questions were encouraged by all the staff to help customers understand exactly what type of meal and experience they were looking for. As an example, I simply noted on the first day there that I loved Curry, at which Shabber helped me to understand how vast that delicacy can be experienced! And the salads were out of this world with blueberries, walnuts, red onions, garlic, etc. accentuating to taste buds! The bar also provided a vast assortment of goodies. I enjoyed some of the dark beers, as well as the "smoothies." John Paul, our 10 y/o relished a non-alcoholic Strawberry concoction that Evelyn aptly called the "John Paul" drink! Anyway you like it, you are sure to be pleased at this establishment where attention to detail is a mantra. Godspeed to all of you for taking such good care of us and even letting John Paul play "Runescape" on his computer at your place! I hope to come back again to my "home away from home!" more
