I was apprehensive to try this hotel due to its location and some negative reviews about its service. However, those fears were unfounded because I had a wonderful four-night stay. The service was excellent every time, and we were even provided some extras such as an upgraded room upon request. The Bathhouse Spa was clean, comfortable, and professional. The rooms are also clean, well maintained, and the housekeeping staff did a great job during my stay. We even requested extra pillows and were given a choice of type of pillow. The hotel has a hip vibe yet is a pleasantly relaxing contrast to the din of the casino next door. "Views" are limited unless you are on an upper floor facing the Strip, because the Luxor blocks the Strip view of the lower half of this side of the property. The other side faces the desert. That means 3/4 of the hotel doesn't have good views, so be prepared to pony up if that's important to you. The negatives are the locaton and the unglamorous approach through a parking garage. The location is NOT what you want if you love the Central Strip -- you'll spend plenty of time in taxis or on foot getting to where you want to go. However, the taxi line outside The Hotel was quick, and there were taxis on que at all hours (including 5am). This is not always the case next door at Mandalay Bay, where I have stood in line for 15-20 minutes on the weekend for a cab. Also, there is lots to do at Mandalay Bay if you are able to resist the call of the central Strip. Mandalay Place has some mall-ish shopping (It's no Forum Shops for sure), there are 3 spas and a giant pool complex onsite, the casinos at MB and Luxor are both close, and there are tons of lounges and great restaurants. As for the arrival via parking garage -- it is what it is. It lacks the glamour of an arrival at Bellagio or Ceasar's or even the Wynn. It is more like pulling up curbside at the airport. Overall, it was a superior property and I would stay here again.
Pros: Chic property!
Cons: Location, Garage Arrival
