Editorial review from Citysearch 6/19/2013

Just spent a week here. Reservation was the Mandalay Bay Resort. Sent us to THEhotel instead. Had to walk through casino with all our luggage with no help from staff and the directions from Registration Staff half-hearted at best.\r Room was ok but the bathroom was terrible with only one small sink area for two people for a week.\r Access to pool area is terrible with again needing to walk through casino to get access.\r Have stayed at Mandalay Bay facility several times and always had great experience but THEhotel is NOT a good experience at all. more

We stayed here for 4 days. Everything was great. Our room had a wonderful view, the Bathhouse spa was relaxing and the services I received (oxygen facial and deep tissue massage) were top notch. We had breakfast each morning in The Cafe. Wonderful food and good service. I highly recommend. more

what happens in vegas? burglary on the 38th floor!!!! 9/19/2011

My husband and I were in vegas over the weekend for my brother's wedding. While we were out, our room was burglarized. Although there was no sign of any forced entry, my wedding ring, macbook pro, gold hoop earrings, perfume, cologne, and a small travel bag was stolen from the room. The theief also took the laptop charger, but left everything else in the room including a wrapped wedding gift and credit cards. more

Stay the hell aware from this hotel 9/2/2011

Customer Service/Risk Mgmt - Terrible 1/14/2011

We stayed at TheHotel and checked out on Nov 22/10 at 6 am due to an early flight. In my tiredness I left behind all my shopping in one big bag. I called the next day to have it shipped and it took a month, the bag arrived with most of the stuff missing. They said a report was filed but Risk Mgmt won't return my calls - even the managers don't return calls. The one time I got through I was basically told they didn't believe me and there was nothing they could/would do. Do not risk staying here. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! 8/6/2010

My girlfriend and I just left ?The Hotel? because our room got broken into last night and we were robbed. My girlfriend was tired so she decided to go to sleep early. I decided to go to the bar for a drink. Someone was able to enter our room while my girlfriend was sleeping and started going through her purse. She woke up during the robbery and thought it was me so she rolled over and started to go back to sleep. When robber heard her roll over in bed he or she dropped to the floor and crawled to the opposite end of the room. My girlfriend lied there paralyzed with fear as she now knew it was not me. All my girlfriends cash was stolen. We reported the situation to the front desk they acted like it was no big deal and then we were directed to ?risk management?. What a joke!!!!! They offered no answers or solutions. You would think they have cameras being a 4 star hotel in Vegas. I am a meeting planner and travel all over the country during the year working with hotel staff at various locations. This by far was the worst experience I have ever had. I researched the issue on the internet and there are so many others out there who have been robbed at the Mandalay bay and The Hotel. DO NOT SAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! more

Major Security issues - rooms are being burglarized 8/24/2009

For those Las Vegas lovers, stay away from THEhotel. Regardless of the deals you might get there, being burglarized will definitely ruin your stay. Pros: Nice suites Cons: Staff theft, bad customer service, not enough pool chairs more

THE Hotel is a winner 3/5/2009

THE Hotel has some of the nicest guest rooms in town and are competitively priced. I find a lower standard of customer service than expected. Not nearly as good as Four Seasons but not as expensive either more

Good customer service and comfortable rooms 9/2/2008

7 of my friends and I this past weekend went to Las Vegas (it was my first time). We knew we wanted to stay at a hotel that was aimed toward our generation (early to mid 20s). The palms and hardrock were very expensive (it was labor day weekend FYI). For 3 nights, it came out to an average of 309 a night per room, which I think its quite inexpensive. We stayed in THEsuite with a living room and 2 bed bedroom. Very comfortable beds and bathrobe. Bathroom was VERY impressive with SUNKEN tub, stand up shower, separate toilet and huge sink area. The room was a 5/5 without a doubt. The only bad part is the hotel's entrance is underground which was alittle odd and THEHotel is so far from the pool, easily a 15 minute walk. Room service took on average about 40 minutes which was expected, but everything was still pipping hot when it came. Pros: Ambience, Price, Quality, Bars, Pool with Beach Cons: Far from Pool, Underground Entrance more

Had a great stay at THE HOTEL 5/29/2008

When my friends and I first got to THE HOTEL, we were really happy to see that the lobby wasn't overly busy but meanwhile the Mandalay Bay casino and several of the other resorts were in easy walking distance. The staff got us checked in right away and the room was great. The room was very hip and modern: TVs, beds, and bathrooms were awesome and there was plenty of space. When we got to the room we found that the TV remote wasn't working so I informed the front desk and they had a new remote for us in minutes. Overall, I'd recommend THE HOTEL to anyone visiting Vegas. Pros: Great rooms and service Cons: Views from some of the rooms rooms aren't great (not all) more

Nothing special with THE garage entrance 4/30/2008

This was not my first neither my last trip to Las Vegas, but definitely the first and the last stay at THE Hotel. Having stayed in Mandalay, Bellagio and Wynn we thought to try THE hotel as it sounded really promising on paper. THE reality - it is a dark, mediocre hotel with a very weird entrance from the garage. There is no other entrance to this hotel, right from the parking lot! Greenish glass used to build this hotel makes you look like you were dead in your room in a daylight. Believe me, it was not b/c of the heavy drinking the night before. Customer service is bad. In order to get message from the receptionist, one have to stand the long line of people checking it, and when asked for room service your coffee ($17.00) arrives lukewarm 20 min later. more

I will never stay anywhere else in Vegas 4/21/2008

Excellent experience. Staff was very helpful. Since we were there on our honeymoon our room was upgraded to a V suite for free. The view was top notch and there was nothing to complain about. I lost my debit card on the trip and the front desk was very helpful - they called all of the places I visited that day and put me in touch with their security departments. We loved that their was no casino in the hotel, but we did not have go outside to reach 2 casinos. Highly recommend! more

Pleasant Surprise at South End of Strip! 12/31/2007

I was apprehensive to try this hotel due to its location and some negative reviews about its service. However, those fears were unfounded because I had a wonderful four-night stay. The service was excellent every time, and we were even provided some extras such as an upgraded room upon request. The Bathhouse Spa was clean, comfortable, and professional. The rooms are also clean, well maintained, and the housekeeping staff did a great job during my stay. We even requested extra pillows and were given a choice of type of pillow. The hotel has a hip vibe yet is a pleasantly relaxing contrast to the din of the casino next door. "Views" are limited unless you are on an upper floor facing the Strip, because the Luxor blocks the Strip view of the lower half of this side of the property. The other side faces the desert. That means 3/4 of the hotel doesn't have good views, so be prepared to pony up if that's important to you. The negatives are the locaton and the unglamorous approach through a parking garage. The location is NOT what you want if you love the Central Strip -- you'll spend plenty of time in taxis or on foot getting to where you want to go. However, the taxi line outside The Hotel was quick, and there were taxis on que at all hours (including 5am). This is not always the case next door at Mandalay Bay, where I have stood in line for 15-20 minutes on the weekend for a cab. Also, there is lots to do at Mandalay Bay if you are able to resist the call of the central Strip. Mandalay Place has some mall-ish shopping (It's no Forum Shops for sure), there are 3 spas and a giant pool complex onsite, the casinos at MB and Luxor are both close, and there are tons of lounges and great restaurants. As for the arrival via parking garage -- it is what it is. It lacks the glamour of an arrival at Bellagio or Ceasar's or even the Wynn. It is more like pulling up curbside at the airport. Overall, it was a superior property and I would stay here again. Pros: Chic property! Cons: Location, Garage Arrival more

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICES 11/18/2006

I had the greatest time. the Hotel at Mandalay Bay is great! Wow its blew me out of the water. That all i gotta say. They are a little over price but its worth it if your going to visit las vegas for the first time. People at the front desk can be a little stuck up how high ttheir nose can be and think they some richie people or something. but oh the phone they are are on it and made sure its good. Pros: beautiful Cons: parking is hard to get to the hotel had to walk around but will find it. more

Great Rooms 11/18/2006

The Mandalay Bay is truly a wonderful Vegas getaway, with everything you know and love about Vegas. The rooms were outstanding, the casino is pretty much what you would expect (no low table limits) and the pool area is amazing. It's only downfall is the fact that it is so far down the Strip, it makes for some long walks. more
