If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is where dreams and vermin go to die. Plus they are a bunch of scam artists. I made the mistake of joining this hole which is dirty, smelly, and just all around lacking because it was close to my apartment. After I finally decided I couldn't bear the thought of working out there anymore I went in to cancel. A woman I spoke with asked my info and told me she cancelled my account. When I was charged the next month, I called to tell them they had made a mistake only to be told that I had to cancel via certified mail and that I now owed them another month for a gym I hadn't and wouldn't be going to. They told me it wasn't their fault for misinforming me of how to cancel and actually lied about canceling my membership, but MY fault because I believed them and didn't read the fine print on my contract. So I paid them and sent the certified letter. THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO!! I just received a letter in the mail saying I was being sent to collections for another month of a membership because they are claiming they received the certified mail 3 days after the monthly cut off...2 YEARS AGO!! Clearly they are lying, but dared me to prove it with the certified receipt that I apparently should've held onto like a hoarder for the rest of my life. This place is THE WORST, as are the people who work there. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau who informed me this business has an F rating and multiple other people are experiencing the same issue. more

Synergy in Astoria is HORRIBLE. They are despicable CON ARTISTS. Please, I am begging you, DO NOT JOIN, for your own good. \r \r I followed all the necessary protocol to cancel my membership including sending a letter by certified mail and following up to ensure receipt. Despite that, I later realized that they had been continually charging my account and refused to stop! They claimed they never got the letter and I had to tell my bank to block any future payment to them. The management/staff is extremely sleazy and it disgusts me that they habitually steal from innocent people and get away with it. Trust me, stay away from this gym. I don't want anyone to have to deal with what I went through with these people. Best of luck. more

This is my second review for Synergy Fitness on citysearch. I am an advocate for the ""Synergy Fitness Clubs"". I've been exercising at all the locations for years now. They are always helpful and I feel like its a family atmosphere when I walk in. The employees know my name and most importantly the memberships are inexpensive. I love the fact that whether Im on Long Island, Queens or Manhattan there is an accessible Synergy that I can utilize with my passport membership. Another ""JK"" stamp of approval!! more

Don't join, they're money hungry!!!!!, they'll call you at odd hours..harass you on fone for personal training sessions, they get hostile and rude too if you say no..pay a little more and go to ClubFitness 2 blocks down, it's world class with 3 floor of amazing complex/new equipment with great customers service..stay away from synergy..they're abusive..i even filed police complaint against the manager Mike because he physically harassed me in the gym starting a fight with me, the customer.( Member of 3 years Hello!)
