The food is excellent, especially the mussels. Five stars for the food, three for the parking when it's busy.

Always incredible...but it's getting harder and harder to find the time as I sometimes wait 45 mins-1 hr for table access. Going to have to pick and choose my nights. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/4/2013

This place is great! I have eaten here MANY times, and never been sick (the restrooms are scary, and need to be cleaned more frequently and, yes, I have read the comments about what the workers supposedly say, below). The plates are always squeaky clean, and the sushi is as fresh as it gets, made in front of you while you watch! Unlike other places to eat, the workers aren't constantly sweating and wiping their brows (ewww!), like you see even on Hell's Kithchen and in nicer places. The smell of fish isn't strong like, say, Albertson's. for that matter, and for a non-fish lover like myself, I can find wonderful dishes I like--the House Special roll, the California roll, the spicy tuna roll, the tuna, the Krab---even the seared salmon! For the money, taste, and quality, Sushiland really cannot be beat! As for service, this place is always hopping and the servers are quick and nice. Try it and form your own opinion. PS ASIANS eat here. That tells you a great deal. more

I have been there several times. Taste 3/19/2012

I have been there several times. Taste was changed. Worst sushi I ever ate. Fish taste like came out from freezer, it was not fresh. If you love sushi, do not go there. more

Sushi lovers BEWARE! 12/31/2010

Inside tips for people who eat at the Marinepolis Sushi Land 8424 SE Sunnyside Rd, Clackamas, OR 97015. This location is bad. Ive got inside info about this place from the workers! The lids that cover the food does not get washed daily. They only get wiped with a dirty cloth in the back. Also their water pitcher has green mold at the bottom. If you do eat there always have them make the sushi for you that way you its fresh and not contaminated. This is inside info from the workers. more

My favourite sushi 7/25/2009

I haven't tried a lot of different sushi places, but this one is by far my favourite. The employees are friendly and helpful, and it's fun watching them prepare the sushi.. Pros: great sushi, great customer service Cons: really busy most of the time(which is actually a good thing) more

suhi okay if you dont mind bad service 3/13/2009

dont seem like they value their customers. bad service atitude. Reading the other reviews most people tend to agree the service is below average. Pros: cheap sushi, food not bad Cons: poor management, bad service more

Best Sushiland of the chain. Good sushi for the price! Always fresh and tasty. Service is a bit inconsistent, though. 5/28/2008

I frequent this Sushiland as much as possible. Luckily, it is the closest Sushiland to me since it is the best of the chain. Yeah for me! Anywho, I enjoy eating here. The wait can be 15-20 minutes when they are busy, but just sign in at the register and they will let you know when there are seats available for your party. The prices are reasonable for what you get. I haven't ever gotten bad sushi at this location (beware of the Beaverton location, though!!!). It isn't the best sushi, but it is very good sushi and I have never been disappointed with the food here.\r \r On the flip side, sometimes depending on who is working, the service can be a little slack. More so than not the service is acceptable. When something isn't on the conveyor, just ask one of the chefs and it comes fresh and usually pretty quick. Ordering soup (which your server gets, not the cooks) is when the service becomes sketchy. I have had to ask the server to wipe down the area I am seated at a little better than their first try on a couple of occations, too. Other than that, I have only to rave about this sushi location. more

Bad customer service 3/20/2008

I would like to tell you about this place. It?s the best sushi alright, for many years I have come to this sushi place but last night I came in with a friend and our bill came to $16.00 I had with me $315.00 just took out of the bank. The person at the register was counting some receipts and when I looked I did not have enough by $1.00 so I gave him $100.00 he gives me back $4.00 I told him you owe me $84.00 he said no you gave me a $20.00 I asked him to call the manager the manager comes up and counts the till he says that the money is right in the till. Ok I worked in retail many years ago there is no way to count the till in just 5 min for a day worth of work at 7:00 pm this place has over 1, 000 people come in or more in a day. I gave the manager my phone number and told him there is no way you could have counted the till, so when you close tonight recount and call me. He recounted the till and called me that night and said the till was right maybe I lost that money or I am thinking to myself maybe my money has feet and they just walked away. So who ever comes to this place use a debit card or ask them to have the money on the counter before they give you your cash back especially if this is a big bill. more

Forget Saturday Nites 7/1/2006

The food is good, but the customer service is sooooooo bad. Then there is always the matter of hours of operation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which no one that works there knows exactly what time they close, could be sometime between 9:00pm to 11:pm and that is on a Saturday nite. Have not dined there any other day of the week, Thank Goodness because I could never make it there in time, which I am still tryng to figure out just what time they are open. Can someone please tell me their hours of operation? more

you get more than what you pay for 2/25/2006

I am Japanese, so I should have some credibility in my review, right? I must say that Sushiland is the best 'Kaitenzushi (circulating sushi) in the US! As some reviewers mentioned, it's not the best sushi in town. You can't dine there thinking you are at a sushi restaurant. You are simply tasting sushi rice with various condiments. But for the amount of money you spend at Sushiland, you get so much out of it! Pros: price Cons: crowded more

Much better prices then most other sushi places 2/13/2006

I am on a Sushi kick right now and have been tring many places all over town. I can't tell the difference between the $1.50 Tuna and Sushi Land vs. the $4.00 tuna at others. Its 2 pices, rice, and tuna, not any difference except that $2.50. Even the tuna rolls, really, you can't bet $1.50 for 6 pieces. Yes its busy, get there early!! Pros: inexpensive, large selection, good selection Cons: easy to eat to much more

Best bang for the buck 2/5/2006

It's not much to look at as far as ambience but the food is good and the price is more than cheap. the service, well what can I say, its a conveyer belt with fish on it, just grab and eat. We were in and out in less than 1/2 hour and still had money in our pockets more

What Goes Around Comes Around 1/9/2006

Good Sushi is an experiance not a model train that runs around on a track. Serving Size - Small Food Quality - Poor Taste - Why isn't wasabi used in the preperation, is this supposed to be hacked sushi to be adjusted by the diner? Even at McDonald's they put catchup on a burger. Went there becasue it was convenient. Will not go back. I will say it is fun to color stack your plates as you finish with them. Want better sushi - go the the airport and eat there, pay the parking it will be a better and more enjoyable experiance then eating here. Don't take kids here, let them try good sushi first. Pros: Complaining is fun Cons: Why eat someplace to more

Best Sushi Value Around 3/15/2005

If you are looking for a Tatami Room go elsewhere. BUT, for the sushi value of the century this is the place. Go at off hours and the selection will be scanty but you CAN ASK for things that they have tucked away. At peak hours the selections are mightier and the freshness of the circulant goes up due to the simple arithmetic of throughput. I had one piece of slightly-off hamachi once, but that's one out of thousands. (I've been nearly knocked off my seat by old dead fish at another popular ""value"" sushi restaurant in the area.) I've seen others rag on the service - don't go there for service you probably don't pay for anyway (optional tip jar) - but I will say this: Clackamas is far better than Lloyd in this regard. In summary, stay away from Sushi Land - I want it all to myself! Pros: excellent prices, fresh fish, crowded Cons: crowded, overworked staff more

You gotta be kidding! 7/7/2004

I'm blown-away by the seemingly high rating. The sushi there has never been better than average. The fish is frequently less than fresh and not of very good quality. If you aren't there when they have a full staff, you will find that many varieties aren't to be found on the conveyor. Now, having said that, the service is below average, but that is ok, you can serve yourself. The prices are right. It's a decent value. Just don't go expecting more than a Denny's level of food quality. Pros: Cheap more

Great establishment! 10/28/2003

I love this place and eat there maybe once a week. The reason that service is ""slow"" to some is that they are under staffed on many nights and it does not help that usually one one of the waiters can speak well enough english to run the register and take take out orders. People complain that the service isn't good, but look at those waiters; they are consently moving. The place is small and they have just grown so popular that the wait for a seat can be long if you come at the busiest hours. So just sign the waiting list sit down and wait until your turn. If you ever have questions ask the new manager Sean, who is very friendly. A new Sushi Land opened in Vancouver on Oct.24.2003! It is really nice and there are more seats! It is on 164th. Pros: Good Food, Great Value, Great Staff Cons: Rude customers, Wait at busiest hours, Small more

okay, but not the best 7/1/2003

As sushi bars go, this place is pretty okay, but sometimes it's kinda plain, in comparison. I've never had problems with stinky fish or bad fish or anything, but presentation is less than ideal, the atmosphere as strip mall inside as it is outside, and in general it's just a generic sushi bar. Pros: it's sushi! Cons: it's busy! more

The Best Sushi Ever!! 12/14/2002

My husband and I have been to several sushi bars in and around town. Marine Polis is by far our favorite! The fish smells of ocean and never fishy! It is never overpowered by the wasabi. Very inexpensive. The atmosphere may not be romantic but the freshness, variety and specials make up for it! more

Best in the west 12/11/2002
