Sushi In Joy

My family came up from California and wanted good sushi. We found them on yelp and it had great reviews. The sushi was great, but my only complaint was customs service. Our waitress was very slow. We got there at 8 and didn't get our food till 845. She kept going to the back and the sushi chef would have to call for her constantly. We were the only ones in there. When we ordered they told us that that was the lat round which confused us cause it was 8 snd yelp said they closed at 10 but alright. The worse was when we decided the next day we went to get takeout, the lady answered the phone too busy and hung up. It was rude and I understand being busy but if I ever treated my customers that way I'd be out of a job/ business. The food was good but I'd rather spend my money somewhere else where it'll be appreciated. more

I eat sushi all over the world usually 1 or 2 times a week...I'm an international flight attendant. The only reason I picked this place was because I needed to find a sushi restaurant in a certain area near where my friend worked. I ,as you are, was doing a web search and going by others recomendations. First of all this is in a strip mall. No fancy dining room or pretentious decor. Although nicely decorated. But you are going here to eat great sushi right? I was going through the menu to order my regular catipillar roll, rainbow roll and whatever the chef recommended. Well The chef came over with the waitress and suggested 3 of their most popular rolls. Pros: inventive and original sushi rolls Cons: not a fancy date place. more

Excellent food, but thoughtless chef. I was enjoying my dinner at the sushi bar, when, all of a sudden, there's a nasty stench arising because the sushi chef decides to blow-torch a fish a few feet away from where I'm sitting. When I complained to him about it, the response was, ""Well, we have to get ready for the dinner crowd."", as if my enjoyment of the meal was irrelevant. I guess it never occurred to them that they could prepare it back in the kitchen next to a decent ventilation unit. The restuarant is small, very clean, and the staff is great. The rolls are excellent and the Poke and appetizers are always top notch. Lunch has a 10% discount on select rolls and the prices are already good. Try it for a great change. I highly recommend it!! Pros: Fresh, Clean, Discounted lunch menu Cons: Can be slow when busy more
