poor workmanship on deck 6/27/2008

I purchased a dutchess from sun fun pools last year and have still been waiting for an answer as to why there can't be anything done with the sharp edges with big gaps that will cut your fingers as walking around holding on to the side of the pool. I have found out that USA mfg is the manufacture of these pools but sun fun will not give me their phone # unless I gave them my name. I also have called the salesman who works for the mfg. to come back and look at this last year and this year to see if this is what I have to live with for $20,000.00 and he tells me this year he would come out but never did and when I spoke with him again he said the price of gas was pretty high and would not give me the mfg phone #. I was told if we got them involved it would just cost me attorney fees and that I wouldn't want that. Do they put the pool up fast yes but I would rather they take there time instead of my grandkids cutting their fingers and having to pay this much money for poor quality being told you just have to live with it is not very good for their reputatuon, they even gave me a discount to let them bring people by to show the pool to. The way it turned out they never brought one person over wonder why. I even asked if I could look at another dutchess they had put together to see if it had the same problem but they just couldn't seem to find one. The store manger is very rude but their pool foreman is very helpful and stands by his word. If anyone has info on the mfg I would greatly appreciate receiving it. more

Installation Cost 5/4/2008

I just bought a Sun-Fun Pool last week and already have it in my backyard. It is hard to believe how fast the installation crew can put that thing together. The whole experience was great. After I read about the costly installation cost ib this site I looked at my paperwork and it was the same way. So I called Sun-Fun Pools and inquired about it. They were very helpful. The state of Indiana allows the to only charge sales tax on 60% of the pool and the other 40% is showed as labor which they do not have to charge tax on. So it looks as if they charged $4000 for installation. I am very pleased with the whole process. A very very very good company to do business with. Would recommend the anyone. Give them a call. Pros: Office personel is very helpful and willing to help answer questions more

Very Good Company To Do Business With 5/4/2008

I have a Sun-Fun Pool. It is now 15 years old. I just now put a new liner in the pool. I was still using the original. I started checking on the internet and seen these reviews. I was a little timid about calling them, but after I did and everything went just as planned I would highly recommend them. They were very professional and very courteous along the way. They showed up and completed the work just as described. Pros: Very friendly people, very knowledgable service department more

poor customer service. indifferent management 7/21/2007

Poor Customer Service, Expensive 7/14/2007

Sun-Fun Pools sold us a Sea Isle Swimming pool in 2001. We have experienced some problems and they have not answered any of our complaints so their customer service is lacking. We sent two letters to them, it has been at least a month and they still have not responded. If you do business with this company be prepared to not be answered if you have a complaint. The other thing was, Sun-Fun is expensive. They charged us about $4,000 just to install the pool. I don't know if that is what other people charge. It sounds like Watson's charges only $500 to install a 24' round pool. Sun-Fun pools also neglected to tell us about the insects that get between the pool liner and pool wall. They also told us and it was even in writing that the pool would last a lifetime and our pool is corroding after 5 years. We spent a total of almost $11,000 on that pool. Now how would you feel if that happened to you? They want us to spend around $3,000 - $4,000 to fix the pool. $1000 of that is installation cost. The other parts are the pool wall, base track, skimmer, return, ladder flanges, and pool liner. The liner, return, skimmer, and ladder flanges was partly our fault since we didn't drain the pool down (we wanted to prevent more insects from getting between the liner and wall) unfortunately, ice damaged those items. As for the pool wall and base track, I don't know why they are corroding. I have read aluminum pools are supposed to last 20 or more years and ours didn't even make it half way. more
