Five stars is not enough for this wonderful place I took my baby here on Saturday for the first time and I can only say that I am forever in debt to them. I have a 2 year old chihuahua named Daisy she is my whole world and she got very sick back in September I spent crazy amounts of money taking her to vets and not one found the problem nor had an answer as to why she was so sick and almost dying on me thankfully Daisy got better but because it went untreated it has returned I didn't know what was wrong with her this Saturday when I took her here but in lest then 24 hours Dr Tracee knew what was wrong and was treating her for it. It is auto immune disease which is very critical due it being undetected the first time she was sick. Dr Tracee, Dr Friederich(Dad), Debbie, Dr. Nathan, Betsey, and the whole staff have been fighting and doing everything they can do to save and keep my little girl alive and I thank God that I walked threw those doors. I want to say Thank you for loving my little girl Daisy just as much as my family and I do. I hope that Daisy and I will be coming to you years from now. When Dr. Friederich was there, it was a very good facility. Since the son has managed it, the qualify of service has declined greatly. more

Dr. Friederich is the best! I've taken all my pets their I am an owner of two rescue dogs who have always been treated with great care. One of my dogs has allergies and after being ripped off thousands of dollars to help her get in good health I finally took her to Dr. Friederich who helped diagnosed her allergies and treat them immediately! more

Dr Friederich is the BEST VET in the WORLD! He Loves Animals,and has dedicated his WHOLE life to HELPING ANIMALS! I have been going to him for 30 years! Dr Friederich has touched so MANY HEARTS & SAVED SO MANY LIVES! He puts in so many hours and is SO DEDICATED to helping & saving ALL Animals Lives-at reasonable prices,not like the other VETS-that NO ONE CAN EVEN AFFORD! HE EVEN MAKES HOUSE CALLS! Not the cleanliest of places; however, this man and his daughter are phenominal persons. I look past the filth that is there and have sat in on surgeries with this man and the utmost in care is taken with each and every surgical procedure. The table is disinfected, there is ample room for the procedure, etc. \r \r Our family had the unfortunate mishap of having a dog that was misdiagnosed back in 1990 and we took Wilbea to Dr. Gary as a second opinion and found out she was stroking out on us. He kept her overnight, she improved and was slated to go home, but the Lord called for her to be taken up to heaven 2 days later. She passed at home at least. Since that day he has taken care of our dogs, our cats, and even our fish and ferret. I couldn't fathom the thought of taking them anywhere else. \r \r There are several people out there ready to jump on poor Dr. Gary and that is a fact. I was employed at SAH by Dr. frederich for many years. I saw the neglect on many different levels. I swear on all that is scared to me that all of these allegations are true. I have watched sedated animals dropped on the floor immediately after surgery. Pets left there for care left untreated for days. Pets left there to be adopted that were euthanized. To my horror a previous employees dog that was put up for adoption, that was infested with fleas, put to sleep because he was too arrogant to adopt the dog because he was angry at the owner at the time. I just honestly could not the nightmare any longer. Because I had to support my child at the time, I worked there. I contemplated what actions should be taken. I was honestly frightened to take any action. Sure his prices were reasonable and his hours were convenient. Please do not be fooled by anyone that is associated with that practice. I think Dr. Freiderich is a GOOD veterinarian and a truly caring person for each and every creature he encounters. He is an old-school Doctor-Do-Little type vet that helps any animal, anywhere and anytime that?s in need of care. If you see the way he is dressed or have ever been to his clinics you know it?s not about the money. He is always so busy taking care of animals he hardly has time to take care of himself. So I pray for him all the time. I really hope there is no type of jealous veterinarians conspiracy because he doesn?t charge outrageous prices for his services as most other vets do. \r After the Michael Vick case are vets suppose to be police first and vets last? It sounds like entrapment to me. Playing on a kind old vets weakness to help all dogs. more

My cat nearly died because of this son of a b@tch! I took my cat to him 3 times because she was not able to go to the bathroom. Each time he kept her overnight and would say he gave her an enema and she went to the bathroom and was doing better. She did no such thing. She got worse and sicker and lethargic. He never bothered to x-ray her or do anything else! Thank god I took her to another vet who has treated her like a queen. My cat now has permanent damage to her intestines and I have to have her on medication now for the rest of her life. I am considering starting a class action lawsuit against this man, because I'm sure I'm not the only person whose animal he has not taken care of!! more

Dr GARY FRIEDERICH is in practice with daughter TRACEE FRIEDERICH... please GOOGLE his name and review his mug shot and horrendous abuse allegations. What a bunch of tools proclaiming he was a good vet because his prices were good?? So good, in fact, because he was drooling into surgical incisions and smoking cigars while "performing" surgery, assisting in dog fighting, watering down vaccines, what a POS. Oh and you think the daughter knew nothing? BOTH of them are disgusting and fooled quite a few people it seems. Every state has an online license verification site with complaints listed...please check it before you utilize services, this pig's license was suspended before...DISGUSTING. Too bad I have to give a star to post this warning. more

I 've been dealing With Dr. Friederich for 15 yrs . A vet wanted to do surgery one one of my puppy eyes because it was shaking back and forth . I took her to Dr. Friederich's for a second opinion and he told me she will be find no surgery is needed ,she'll grow out of it and she did ! No charge . I work late and I'm able to see doc at 12 midnight . How cool is that ! Don't worry he'll be back . more

Mr. Gary is an amazing doctor, these allegations are untrue and hurtful that such a good, caring, hardworking doctor has to be accused of. This is just ridiculous. more

BEST EVER i have been taking my pets there since i got them i love this place .It is great to see vet's care so much about there pets my dog had parvo after a week being there i called other places to see how much would it cost to leave her there for treatment everyone said it all depends how for it is 2,000.00 TO 3,000.00 I think i almost fell to the floor dr.Friederich Tracee and her father only charged me 150 iand they would always call to tell me udates on how she is doing i love them for caring so much about my pets i always recommend people here and everyone tells me the same they are awesome . more

It's reassuring that there are vets who care more about your animals well being then charging a fortune.. Those qualities seem to be hard to come in this day and age she was thorough and very reasonable.. I will be bringing my cats there in the future! more

I liked this vet a lot. They are a busy little place, so don't expect immediate service. However, do expect quality service at probably the best price in town. After taking my parent's rabbit there for a neutering, my Dad (a bargain man) said he wished we had known about Drs. Friederich (Gary and his daughter Tracee) all our lives. An 'Old school' vet, who knows how to get the work done without the add-ons, to save you money and care properly for your pet. I drive 45 minutes to go to them. more

Our 7 month old bunny broke his leg and all the low-cost clinics would not even help us. The vets in Dupage county that would even see our bunny wanted $150 for an x-ray, $85 for vet fee and that was BEFORE the recommended surgery they wanted to do. \r \r I am very thankful to have found Dr Friederich who gave us other alternatives that didn't require surgery. Our bunny is back to good health! more

I took our beloved cat Alley to PetSmart last September (2008). Alley was sick. PetSmart did not know how to take blood from a cat with all his claws and charged me over $250.00 for blood work and said they didn't know what was wrong with him. I then took Alley to Dr. Friederich who determined that he was poisoned. Alley had several seizures and a stroke. Dr. Friederich kept Alley for several days and tried to reverse the damage. Dr. Friederich even took Alley home with him to care for him overnite! Alley ultimately passed but at least I know that he was given the absolute best care possible. I was billed less than what PetSmart charged for unbelievable quality care. WELL WORTH IT. I since then adopted a kitten from him. I highly recommend Dr. Friederich and his daugher Dr. Tracee Friederich for pet care. more

I have been to 6 different vets over the last 30 yrs and finally found a vet worthy of taking care of my pets. Dr Gary is a great vet. He really cares about his patients and goes the extra mile. I have to say that my experiences at Summit Animal Hospital have been good. I have 2 dogs and love them like they're my kids. I have even called their number at 11pm on a weeknight just to see what time they opened the next day and Dr. Gary answered! How wild is that?! My little daschund was swollen in the face and had apparently been bitten by a bee. She looked like a pitbull. He told me to give here benedryl and it helped until I could get her in there the next day. By that night....she was back to normal. Everyone who works there is great! Keep up the good work! more
