I went to strombolies with my big family and as soon as we walked in the door everyone rushed to put tables together, handed out pizza dough for the kids and basicaly had the whole set up ready for us! I will always recommend this place to everyone, its soooo good! Pros: Everythings made fresh, no better pizza around! Cons: The bread is just too good i cant get enough! more

Stromboli's Pastas are the best in the city!!! 6/6/2009

Give my kids pizza dough to play with and the have great service! Food is outstanding and the prices are a GREAT value, especially for the amount of food they give you. Pros: Incredible food all around Cons: They are always crowded and busy!!! more

BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN RALEIGH!!!!!!! 5/27/2009

The bread they give you when you sit down is great and the food itself is to die for. My favorite place for Italian!!! Pros: Pizza and Pastas are awesome more

Waste 5/7/2009

I placed a delivery order from here. I ordered mozzarella sticks which were undercooked and tasted like the frozen Farm rich you can get at the grocery store. I also ordered the chicken parm sub and my boyfriend ordered a steak sub. Mine had barely any cheese on it and the bread was soggy and spongy. My boyfriends had practically no cheese and it was skimpy on the steak and very dry. This for over twenty dollars, never again! I will continue to get my Italian takeout from San Carlo! Cons: everything more

best Italian around 3/16/2009

I ate here for the first time a couple weeks ago and had the pasta. the pizza looked really good so I have come back a couple times for the pizza. I haven't found a better pizza in raleigh and trust me I've looked. I will be back. Pros: pizza is great, pasta is homemade Cons: not full service, but not a big deal more

Poor quality 1/9/2009

Pasta overcooked. Sauce taste like they put canned tomatoes in some tomato paste and forgot anything else. Would not eat there again. more

A taste of Italy! 1/8/2009

I ordered from Stromboli's for a small party I was having catered over the Holidays! I ordered 5 wood fired pizzas, penn alla vodka, chicken parmigiano & veal marsala. Along with some salads, bread, and calamari & these amazing arancini (risotto and cheese balls..I never had heard of them before!) Everything was superb and the price was very affordable, I would have spent double buying the groceries and doing everything myself! They were on time with everything, sent all the utensils, so I didnt even have to use any of mine and my guests are still raving about the food...saying that everything tasted so fresh and authentic! We have gone back at least one a week since!!! Our only complaint is that you NEED to OPEN one in Cary!!!! Pros: Great authentic & fresh Italian food with a great price & wonderful service! Cons: They need a location in Cary!!! more

Save your money. Just eat a frozen pizza.... 6/15/2008

Prices have gone way up for delivery. Have ordered pizza, salads & spaghetti and meatballs and been pleased in the past. Ordered a Carne PIzza a few days ago and I could not even eat a whole slice. Bland, poor quality meat. I few of the meats that were supposed to be on there were not. They replaced them with greasy, fatty bacon. Going in the trash tonight! Do not recommend at all. I have had better 99 cent Totinos pizza.... Pros: Spaghetti and meatballs Cons: PIzza and prices more

Generally a good experience 6/13/2008

I have never ordered delivery and always pick up or eat in. I do want to say that Luisa is about the best waitress in the triangle - she is ALWAYS polite, quick to attend to everyone she is serving, on the ball. Some other workers may be lacking but Luisa deserves 10 stars - and no, I am not a relative or friend of hers. As for food - I have generally enjoyed their food. I like the Venetian Chicken, strombolis, calzones, pizza. I did order a Greek Salad that was quite disappointing the other day - no olives in there whatsoever. But overall - I have enjoyed their food. Pros: Venetian Chicken, calzones, strombolis - Luisa! Cons: workers who answer the phone more

Unbelievably Expensive for what you get 5/29/2008

I ordered a pizza and a stromboli to be delivered. First, the person taking my order had no clue what toppings they even offered. I was reading my order right off a delivery menu they left at my door and I was asked 3 times to repeat myself. He kept saying they either did not carry those items or he just couldn't find them. After getting that straightened out I was given a total before he promptly hung up. The price was so high I honestly thought I misheard him. When the delivery driver showed up I asked him to explain the bill which he did go over and also expained there was a delivery charge of a 1.25 added on (which is fine but otherwise I wouldn't have been made aware of.) However the prices to me still did not add up. I checked my menu and their website and I still calculated about 8$ less then what I was charged. When I called the store back and spoke to a manager I was told the website menu prices were wrong, the delivery charge was actually $2, and I needed to ask for an updated menu everytime I ordered! I was offered nothing in return, not even an apology. With tipping the delivery driver, 1 large mediocre pizza and 1 small stromboli cost $45!!! I will not order from them again. more

Don't order delivery 10/20/2007

The food is pretty decent here but the delivery system is terrible. Instead of calling the restaurant I was directed to a call center where I had to talk to 7 different people (on hold between each) to place my order. When I did get to talk with someone they couldn't seem to hear me at all and kept confusing my numbers. They all had an attitude and couldn't seem to understand why I was frustrated that it took me over thirty minutes to just place an order. Pros: better than pizza or chineese for delivery Cons: poor service, slightly overpriced more

Good food in a laid-back atmosphere 9/16/2007

If you are looking for a five-star Italian restaurant, this is not your place. But for a simple pizza or calzone, it's a good choice. I had a chicken and broccoli calzone and I liked it. My companion got spaghetti and meatballs and there was enough food for two dinners. The bread they brought us before the meal was delicious. For the type of food, the prices are a little high but not too awful. If you sit to the left of the register, you can see the cooks prepare your meal. To the right, you can see them make pizzas. While this place is not going to win any awards, for a quick, simple Italian meal, it's not bad. Pros: Good calzone Cons: My dish arrived but my companions did not for another 3-4 minutes. more
