Great Owners 9/15/2010

The place was really clean, very cute setting, the rooms were ok for the price. The restaurant food was just ok, they shouldn't call their breakfast potato's "Strawberry Inn Potato's" when their just plain deep fried store bought!! The restaurant doesn't open untill 7:30 am for breakfast, with a lot skiers staying there they need to open earlier. They are the only restaurant for miles and they were out of items on their dinner menu on Saturday night and they only had handful to choose from! We ordered med-rare cheese burgers and they all came murdered! The pizza was great, the bartenders and waitresses from Brazil were very friendly as were most of the owners and fun to talk to, but the owners should leave them alone and not hover over them and their every move! Great place for skiers and snowmobile rs, very close to both! Overall for the money and location I'd go back again. more

Warm & Welcome 9/8/2010

We stay here often in the winter for skiing as it is close to Dodge Ridge. This cute Inn is warm and welcome. With our school age kids, the four of us always feel welcome. The rooms are very comfortable, the common area/restaurant and bar are very family friendly too. And the food is really good! For a place that is 10 minutes from Dodge, with a beautiful view of the river, great snow play areas within walking distance, and warm and inviting accomidations, we recommend Strawberry Inn. more

Very Sweet and Helpful 9/1/2010

Just got back from a two day stay at the Inn. Yes, the atmosphere has certainly changed! The evening bartender Kevin, is a doll. VERY SWEET and helpful! it is a very beautiful area and I feel it is worth the $120.00 bucks a night. The dinners we had at Pinecrest Lake were excellent! Great cook. more

Beautiful! 8/23/2010

I travel throughout he country on business trips staying weeks or months at a time away from home. I was staying in Sonora and heard over and over again from the locals that I should spend a few days at the Strawberry Inn. After all, who knows better about a local establishment than a local resident. I am happy I took their advice. The location is breathtaking sitting along the river with majestic trees and mountains enveloping you. On Christmas day it was snowing and everything looked like a postcard photo. With people riding their sleds down the mountain side. The food was delicious, especially Judith's tasty deserts. The fire place was toasty warm, the music was enjoyable, the pool table was a nice surprise. But the best feature were the owners Judith and Vic. Charming people that went out of their way to make it feel like a very welcome place to be. Almost home! I have already made my reservations to come back with my family in the summer to enjoy the fishing, hiking and for me just doing nothing but taking in the beautiful scenery. more

manageable 8/20/2010

In response to some of the recent reviews- We did have a heater in the room, one of the head level A/C unit blower types. It had a thermostat so you could control the fan/heat level and that seemed manageable. The room seemed warmed the second day, perhaps from more recent use :-) more

most beautiful views 8/16/2010

I haven't stayed overnite at the Inn for a long time, but we eat there on a fairly regular basis. We have a cabin in the area and there are just a few places to eat in Strawberry. We keep trying though because the cooks change regularly. It is hard to keep a business going year round due to the seasonal aspect of the area. Sometimes the food has been great, and other times, mediocre.Too bad because it has one of the most beautiful views going! Breakfast is usually the best meal I have had there.Anyway, there are tons of great cabins to rent and the area is a undiscovered gem. Kick back, relax, hike, fish, ski, swim and listen to nature. more

wonderful experience 8/10/2010

I had a wonderful experience. I made a reservation just for one night, but stayed three nights. My room was super clean with a river view. The paintings on the Hotel walls are delightful and entertaining for children of all ages. The owners touch and care shows everywhere. I am vegetarian and their restaurant menu is limited, but the owner made me special dishes just for my diet. I was impressed with the entire place. You must try too. more
