I live in the Chicago area, however I often commute to Rockford for business. Stone Eagle was recommended to me by a dear friend, and though I tend to stick with restaurants I am comfortable with, I chose to venture out and try something new. I was throughly empressed with the generosity and special attention of the owner, Jim Vitale (he personaly greeted us at the door!), the knowledge and courtesy of the staff members, and the decor was absolutely outstanding! My guest and I chose a bottle of the house Merlot, and I was astonished to find that we had the option to re-cork the bottle and take it home, seeing as though we didn't finish it. I had the brick oven salmon (which I loved), and my guest had the NY strip special with a blue-cheese crust that was to die for! I ABSOLUTELY recommend this restaurant to everyone!
