Overcharged for Silk Curtains Hem Job 3/2/2007

My wife was not given a price upfront for silk curtains being hemmed. She then asked for a total cost when one curtain was completed (halfway point). After the job was done, she charged $80 & claimed she spent 8 hours on them. She did not appear confident when my wife asked about her specific rate. Instead the lady claimed used a charge-out rate that stores charge even though she works out of an apartment. She had no knowledge of hourly estimates by another establishment. Stitching was uniform. We got taken a bit on price by a 75-year-old lady. Next time my wife knows to quote a job ahead of time. more

Stitch N Time is AMAZING. They do awesome, quick work. I get the whole family's clothes altered here. They are available by appointment only, but they can always fit you in whenever you need. They also have emergency service, in case you need them in a hurry. The price is a bargain, especially when you see how good of work you do. more

I go here to get all my alterations done. They do great work on suits. My wife had her wedding dress done here also, and she was very happy with the work they did. There only open by appointment only, but they can do it almost any time you need them. They have emergency service available also if you every need them in a rush. more
