Yummy. 5/16/2007

Delicious Italian food in a relaxed welcoming atmoshpere. The fusili and the peto are my favorites, but everything is good. I have been eating here for years and it has always been good. When I don't have time to sit and eat I call my order in and it is ready in minutes for pick up. The prices are fabulous and they serve large portions. They can fill up at dinner time, especially when the opera (etc...) is on, I think that they take reservations. Check them out, you will be happy. Pros: Food, service more

how could I have lived without it? 3/13/2007

Osso Bucco: My coworker took me for my first time, & I ordered the only thing she has ever ordered(Just like another favorite in Hayes Valley. Don't fix what aint broken. This was some of the best iutalian I've had in the city. Those meatballs were unbelievable...and smokey....yum....I want more right now! more

Osso bucco, Oh, so good! 11/2/2004

I love Stelline! The food is delicious and flavorful. I've had both lunch and dinner here. The prices are reasonable, the ambience casual, and it's right smack in the center of my favorite valley, Hayes. I highly recommend the osso bucco and the peto (pasta always cooked al dente). Make sure to come early for dinner as it gets crowded. If you want simple italian dining that is not pricey nor pretentious, try Stelline. You'll like. Pros: good service, delicious food, unassuming ambience Cons: , service varies more

Okay for a pre-theater dinner 4/4/2004

This place is inexpensive and the food is fine, but it's not what I'd call a destination place. Cannelloni with spinach is very good. The dessert menu could use a couple more choices. Pros: inexpensive, location more

Good experience 10/9/2002

Have driven by Stelline's many times and read the reviews on this website. Stopped in last Friday for lunch and dined outside on the lobster raviolli- OUTSTANDING. Friendly staff, good food and affordable prices. more

The best Italian restaurant in town 10/8/2002

I have been going to Stelline for several years now. I think that it is the best Italian restaurant in the Hayes Valley. I absolutely love the new location and I definitely think that the prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality of food that they serve. I suggest that everyone go and have a wonderful lunch or dinner there. more

3 & luv 'n it 9/30/2002

Three years and countingand I still love this small quaint locale. Service is uncomplicated and attentive they always make you feel at home. The food is terrific at a price you cannot beat, especially in that area! more

I BECAME A REGULAR 9/10/2002

I found this little italian place about 2 months ago when I moved to the hayes valley. It's a lovely little restaurant... food is awsome and very afordable, service is very friendly and helpful. Very classic, very Italian. Now I go there once a week!! If you don't try it you'll never know how good it is! Pros: Inexpensive, Great food, Fast service more

Moved into Lesser Quality 9/3/2002

Stelline recently moved up the street from Ivy/Gough to Linden/Gough - in short - I think the left the chef back at the older location - this restaurant was a real simple italian dinner. But with this new location comes highier prices and less quality. Forewarning, the chef's love OIL - so if you are trying to avoid it - all pasta dishes are out of the question! As for the pricing - a regular entree use to be $6-9 - now the range is up to $8-12 to compete with it neighbor - Caffe Delle Stelle....I suggest CDS - does $5 bucks really matter..... Pros: bread Cons: food, ambiance more

What a deal! 8/15/2002

This place is great. I was there last Sunday night, and it's one of the best deals in the city. I had the spinach canneloni, which was excellent. We had dinner for two with a few glasses of chianti...all for $30, can't beat it. Plus, the service was great, very welcoming. It would be great place for families looking for good italian cooking. Recommended. more
