Great Service 12/4/2010

I'm was in Houston just for a weekend. I brought my favorite pair of shoes but unfortunately I had an accident last night and broke the hill of my shoe. I tried calling to find and shoe repair place that can fix it immediately, I could not find any place. I went to the shoe store to see if they knew anyone and they recommended the Stella Link Shoe Repair shop. When I went there I explained that I'm out of town and needed my shoe to be fixed immediately and after hearing my story of what I went trough before I came to see him, this gentleman agreed to fix my shoe if I had time to wait. I waited about 25 minutes and he had my shoes ready, but while I was waiting this man talked to me and told me many jokes. I'm glad that I found this place. If any one in my situation and needs shoe repairs I definitely recommend this place. more

Don't use if you like your shoes 3/22/2010

I'd used this place for years because it's the only shoe repair close to my house and because I wanted to give my business to a Russian immigrant trying to make it in the US. I'll NEVER go back. I brought my favorite boots in for the little taps on the heels for second time in 2 months and complained that the repair didn't last long. He told me to get new boots. Seriously. He rips up the lining in your shoes, and then hands them to you without gluing it back down. He writes with a bic pen inside the shaft of your boots, so you can look forward to ink on your calves when you take them off. He STAPLED the ticket to my Stuart Weitzman suede boots. And I don't know why he goes through the trouble of filling out tickets (or the expense of buying them) when he can't find the shoes anyway - I always have to walk back to his work area (around shoes, purses, hammers, all kinds of stuff - all dirty and all over the place) to find my shoes. That's IF they're even ready when he said they would be. The last time I went I had to make him fix the heel - he'd left the leather all puckered up and didn't want to interrupt his phone call to handle business. By the way, if you have any kind of respiratory issue, don't set foot in this place. I don't, but I invariably walk out wheezing and with a headache. Cons: customer service, shoe repair more

The owner is either mean, and/or nuts 5/1/2009

This shop is next door to the very popular cleaners I go to. The shoe shop is never open in the early morning (before 8 am) when I stop at the cleaners and for years ? years, mind you ? I have sometimes parked right in front of the shoe shop when I run to the cleaners. There is no sign prohibiting parking or giving any indication that you can?t park there. Nothing. The little strip center lot is always empty when I park there. Pros: don't know of any Cons: see headline more
