I'd used this place for years because it's the only shoe repair close to my house and because I wanted to give my business to a Russian immigrant trying to make it in the US. I'll NEVER go back. I brought my favorite boots in for the little taps on the heels for second time in 2 months and complained that the repair didn't last long. He told me to get new boots. Seriously. He rips up the lining in your shoes, and then hands them to you without gluing it back down. He writes with a bic pen inside the shaft of your boots, so you can look forward to ink on your calves when you take them off. He STAPLED the ticket to my Stuart Weitzman suede boots. And I don't know why he goes through the trouble of filling out tickets (or the expense of buying them) when he can't find the shoes anyway - I always have to walk back to his work area (around shoes, purses, hammers, all kinds of stuff - all dirty and all over the place) to find my shoes. That's IF they're even ready when he said they would be. The last time I went I had to make him fix the heel - he'd left the leather all puckered up and didn't want to interrupt his phone call to handle business. By the way, if you have any kind of respiratory issue, don't set foot in this place. I don't, but I invariably walk out wheezing and with a headache.
Cons: customer service, shoe repair
