AWSOME! 7/30/2008

The people there were great! They knew how to handle spesific situations. They keep you safe! Star of Hope, under any circumstances, will not give anyone your information; evne if they claim to be your lost relative. The food was good. They had christian services almost 3 times a week. Youth groups were also held. It made children feel at home. It was a warm and inviting atmosphere. Help is provided to anyone who needs it. I personally lived there for almost 6 months, and I think it was an awsome experience. more

Dim Star Light 10/17/2007

In my recent experience with the Star of Hope Shelter I would not recommend this location to a homeless person in Houston. I would search a little further and use this facility as the last resort. The employees were verbally aggressive and unfriendly and uninformative. I was brushed off with the ""policy and procedure"" but a copy of the rules could be found, neither were they posted. One employee claimed that she could not take a written message to give to a client, neither could she receive information about the client. Pros: availability, location Cons: unprofessional, no compassion, mean spirited staff more
