St Philip's College

honestly i have 24 credits here at st. philips and i havent learned squat. If you want to learn about diesel tech you'd be better off buying the book and reading it at home. You wont learn from the instructors who just read off the power point slides or play you tube videos. What an embarrasment it will be to grad from st. philips. The only thing i've learned is what i read on my own free time. Wish i known this a year ago :[ more

Hi First off I like to point out that the teachers here are great. Very humble and down to earth. However maybe a little to down to earth. I wish they were more strict and did not tolerate any non sense. I have one teacher who actually yells at some of the students like if this is highschool or something. Why yell just kick them out. Honestly teachers here are to laid back with the teachings. Only one teacher mister varlens has some very inspirational advice. Although he is really boring and wish i did not have to take his class Learned more about professionalism from him than my 3+ years in the hotel industry witch even included one of the 500 fortune company's. Other than that I feel like the teachers should stop treating us like highschool students and more like student professionals. Maybe I am being to judgemental after all it is my first semester. more

I'm not trying to dog on St. Philips or the professors (teachers?) there or anything, but this school is way to easy. I go to a State University, and decided to take summer school in my home town. Since I lived closest to St. Philips, I chose that over SAC. What a big mistake. Half of my friends went to SAC for the summer while the other half went to St. Philips. I wouldn't have mind the extra 10 minute drive to SAC if I knew that the quality of eduction here was this bad. I took state government, and basically all the teacher did all day was read off of the weekly tests he gives us. more
