St Peter Presbyterian Church

I am writing because I am concerned for this group. I remain anonymous because I am concerned about the well being of my family. Sadly, the leadership is harsh and pharisaical. Their flock is in danger. Many have been subjected to unnecessary humiliation and discipline. Many won't speak up or out for fear of retribution having witnessed what others have endured when they dared question the Session. I strongly suggest that anyone considering becoming a member of this congregation research the past of this body and of the leadership. Please be in prayer that their sin would be addressed and that those under their care would not continue to be hurt by the lack of pastoral oversight. more

Heard mixed reviews of this body of believers. Visited myself and while folks seem nice enough, many have left and been bruised by harsh leadership. Did some research and it seems the Elders demand submission to their authority while they themselves do not do well submitting to those in authority over them. Also seems to be a very gossipy group. more

I've been a member of this church since 2002. They've always been kind to me, far more than I deserve. Pros: Great fellowship, sound doctrine, very close community Cons: Seem to draw lightning from cranky Baptists more

The head pastor of Saint Peter Presbyterian Church is the notorious R.C. Sproul Jr. Defrocked in 2006, along with his entire Session of Elders, over some very serious charges, Sproul has continued masquerading as ""The Rev."" R.C. Sproul, Jr. even though his Presbytery defrocked him for ecclesiastical abuse of parishioners, tax fraud and duplicity. According to the RPCGA's Declaratory Judgment, ""The consistent pattern of actions taken by these men are duplicitous in nature, and demonstrate that they willingly and knowingly act in an arbitrary fashion in violation of their vows of ordination and in violation of our denomination?s Book of Church Order. Most importantly, their actions manifest that they lack the qualification for the ministry 1Timothy 3:1-7). It would be unwise to allow these men to continue to hold an office for which they are not qualified."" St. Peter Presbyterian Church is therefore ""pastored"" by defrocked men. R.C. Sproul Jr. is also the founder of the Highlands Study Center. more
