Another Great St. Louis Pizza place in Allen, TX 12/1/2009

I never ate at this place but I don't think its open anymore. But I know of an AWESOME ST. LOUIS STYLE PIZZA restaurant in Allen, TX. Thats about 20 minutes north of Dallas. Its called 5th Street Pizza and its at the SE corner of McDermott and Alma. This place is St. Louis all the way!! They even have TOASTED RAVS AND GOOEY BUTTER CAKE!! The owner, Jeff Gamache is from St. Louis and he really knows his stuff. As far as I know, its the only St. Louis pizza place in Texas. They have been open since August 2006. Trust me on this one, its worth the drive, no matter where you are coming from. I was so exited to get a taste of home!! Their number is 972-396-5557. They are on my myspace and facebook too. Hope this helps you guys out. GO CARDINALS!! :-) more

homemade meatballs and sauce, pizza as good as or better than Imo's (with ""Provel"" cheese) 4/24/2008

there are new owners, but the place is better than before, no more frozen meatballs and sauce from a can, it's all homemade! chicken parm pasta and sandwich, italian steak sandwich, toasted ravioli, everything is fresh and fantastic, i eat there at least once a week sometimes more. anyone from st. louis who is looking for a touch of home...you found it here! Pros: food is incredible Cons: small space only seats 30 or so more

Best St. Louis Pizza South of Springfield 2/17/2008

Great example of what St. Louis style pizza should taste like, Now called Diterra's. Does not cut corners on cheese or other toppings. Food was a little overpriced but Diterra's is still the best option for St. Louis style pizza in the metroplex.\r Pros: Best St. Louis style pizza in the metroplex. Cons: a little bit overpriced and location is diffacult to find. more

Great real St Louis Style Pizza in Texas 8/19/2007

I happened to see this in a listing of restaurants in the Lewisville area at the hotel. \r \r When I saw the name I immediately was intrigued (being from St Louis) So I checked a little online. Now they changed their name, but you can still get the great pizza with the provel cheese. (Not to be confused with provolone. \r \r My husband and I liked it so much we ordered two days in a row. Also they have toasted raviolis (also another St Louis original) Loved it. Now have a little bit of home in Texas. Pros: Great tasting pizza and good service. more

***Best Thin Crust Pizza*** 1/10/2007

I tried the pizza here on a whim one Sunday because I had a coupon from the Entertainment Book. I am usually a regular dough thickness kinda gal and didn't even know what St. Louis Pizza was since I had never been there nor tried it before.....Let me say that I am now a thin crust pizza gal, at least from this pizza place!!! We ordered the ""3 meat"" and had their specialty smoked bacon, pepperoni and homemade italian sausage crumbles. The combination was delicious and they have this cheese that I had never heard of called Provel. It is a mixture of swiss, provolone and I think cheddar. They give plenty of cheese on the pizza and the amount of toppings were good, some in every bite. The pizza was nice and hot!\r \r The customer service was great. The gentleman had a nice demeanor, suggested items from the menu, offered to half-bake the second pizza so that I could freeze it...well that one ended up getting fully cooked and only half went out the door...only to be devoured by my sister, brother-in-law, Pastor and his wife. They loved it too! \r \r The eat-in area seats approx. 50 people or so and they have a couple tv's showing the football game. Very casual. \r \r Check out this pizzaria...you will NOT be disappointed. Pros: Different kind of pizza cheese, customer service, more
