We have been with SRP Federal Credit Union http://www.srpfcu.org/ for years. We went with them because at the time most banks charged for checking accounts if you didn't keep a certain amount of money in the account and at that time we could barely keep the account open.
In all the many years at SRP they have been so good to work with us when we need a loan or if we were short on funds. We have never had problems with them.
Our son is also a member there and a couple of years ago he put a $1,000 bonus check in night deposit. It was just before Christmas and he went Christmas shopping thinking the check was deposited. Suddenly he started getting returned checks.
He called the bank and they had no record of the check being deposited. He went up and talked to the manager and told him what had happened. The manager told him a stack of checks had been knocked off a desk just about the time he deposited his check and it may have gone in the trash, if he would bring them another check they would redeposit it and take care of all the bounced checks and he would not be charged because it was their fault. Now, he had no way of proving Kevin even put that first check in but he took him at his word and fixed the mess. That's the kind of bank it has always been and that's why we still bank there.
