Anna gives a fantastic Brazilian wax - fast, thorough, experienced. Best wax I've had on the east coast - only place that's compared is Pink Cheeks in LA. She also gives a wonderfully relaxing facial complete with follow up skincare advice My one complaint, and it is a big one - is the miserable front desk. Every single person I've encountered at the desk have been seriously rude - an example: my last visit after I paid and rescheduled and said goodbye, the man behind the desk didn't even look up and acknowledge that I had just said something to him. If Anna wasn't so good, I would never go back to this place simply for the horrific management. more

Three times I've gone here, three different stylists, all with different cutting styles. Each time, I have been highly satisfied. The owner is enthusiastic and involved, stylists (like John--AMAZING) offer an involved, precise approach to hair cutting and styling. When you go here, you are in good hands. Pros: Right on Thayer. Cons: A little pricey for a college student's pocket--but worth it more

I go to Ressay for my eyebrows, and she is just wonderful. She asks for what one exactly wants, and she listens carefully. She's consistently done a great job, and she is very nice. I wouldn't go to any other place! more

I go all over this country getting spa services and this salon is by far the rudest! I have come to this salon for years and I would recommend it for spa services only. I have never got my hair done there, so I cannot comment on the stylists. The receptionist is incredibly rude and she is half the reason I have stopped going. I do miss the woman I got services from, but unfortunately I don't like the idea of a snobby upscale salon. Having worked in a salon myself as a receptionist in college, I realize that it isn't too big of a deal to be kind. One time one of the male stylists checked me out and he gave me the filthiest looks when he handed me back my credit card. I don't understand what the problem is with those people. Being a business owner myself, customer satisfaction is supposed to be the biggest thing for repeat customers. Overall, great services performed by an ignorant staff. That isn't worth it to me. I have been a client of Squires Salon for many years and would not consider going anywhere else. Besides the very professional work, the staff is alway in a happy mood and very accomodating with a smile. They very definately deserve winning "The Best of Rhode Island" three times. Twice for best salon and once for best massage therapist. My hair and skin are very important to me and I always look my best upon leaving Squires. I am often asked about my hair. I've look at some reviews on this site, and I've tried a haircut done at first time in providence. The receptionist scheduled me with one of experienced stylist that I had. However, I've got a worst haircut and service in my life. When I had everything done, I had so much hair all over, my body, cloth and also some conditioner on my face. Now I wear a hat or scarf to hide my hair all the time when I go out. It doesn't worth to spend $40 for a low quality hair stylist at all. I'll never want to go again! I work on the Eastside and went to your salon for a haircut. I am so happy that the receptionist scheduled me with the stylist that I had. He consulted with me for atleast 15 minutes; asked me what I liked and didn't like about my hair. He explained what he saw for me and feeling comfortable with him as a stylist, I told him to go for it. I had never had my haircut like this before (Dry), it is amazing. I sat in his chair and could see the style taking shape before my eyes. Another stylist kept trying to interrupt but, my stylist was unfazed, that must be due to the passion that he has for his work, it was obvious. I am so impressed with the haircut that Thomas Anthony gave me that I am scheduling color with him as well. Thanks for hooking me up, I will be back soon!!! I was referred to Squires' newest stylist, Thomas Anthony. I have been traveling to NYC to try to achieve what this talented stylist performed for me. During our consultation, he explained everything that he would do and the reasons why. My Color is phenomenal, he foiled me with five different colors and gave my dull blonde hair new life, even while wet you could see the change. He cut my hair dry and as he was working his scissors, it was amazing that I could see the actual cut taking shape. I was mesmerized as I had never had experienced a cut such a this. My trips to New York are over!! By the way ladies ... he is from Newbury Street ... what is Boston's loss is now Providence's gain. The compliments are endless on my hair, thanks so much. I had been referred to Squire's newest hire, Thomas Anthony. Thank God for the owner recognizing talent and adding this stylist to his salon. I had given up searching for a hairstylist in Rhode Island that could provide excellent color and hair cutting. For many years, I traveled to Boston and mostly New York City for my hair services but those trips are no longer necessary. Thomas Anthony was a stellar professional, he consulted with me extensively before beginning my transformation. He asked what my idea of the perfect hair color / cut was in my mind and then provided his expertise advice. I felt totally at ease with him, his knowledge of both coloring and cutting are equivalent if not better than NYC. I am absolutely pleased and ecstatic about my color and haircut, he used four different colors in my foil. I have received numerous compliments on both and have begun to spread the word about him. I was referred to a new stylist at Squires and am totally impressed. This stylist spent time consulting with me; asked me what would be my ideal haircut and color and offered his professional expertise. He gave me multi dimensional color within a foil; he cut my hair Dry and now has my business. Congratulations to Squires for acquiring the Phenomenal Talent of Thomas Anthony. I have traveled to New York and Boston for many years to have my services done and am ecstatic that he is here is Providence. Newbury Street's loss is Providence's gain. If you want a fab short haircut in a beautiful salon Jerry at squires is your man! I have lived in Boston, Providence, NYC and I wouldn't go to anyone else! His cuts are well worth the money, grow out wonderfully, and always flatter. You get your own private little room complete with a sink, you never have to move! It's great, I highly recommend it.
