Spot Coffee Rochester Cafe

Spot is a great hangout in the Eastman School of Music area. Students, professors, performers and locals call this place home at least one day a week. They have a large menu of coffee drinks, smoothies and teas as well as a kitchen in the back that makes light meals. Spot is built in an old car dealership and there are still touches of the auto world in the art deco design that Spot maintained. The space is large and open and is good for studying, talking to your friends or a good way to end a date. In addition to the tables and chairs, there is a great area in the back with couches and arm chairs. There's also an upstairs seating area. The only hang up is that the ordering process is a bit confused. Drinks come out out of order and there is general confusion about who ordered what. On the bright side, the prices seem a bit cheaper than other coffee houses in the area. Check out the spot if you're in the neighborhood, I just might go today! The interior space features plenty of tables and cozy couches to curl up on. There are even some more private areas on the back that are divided by long curtains. This place offers all the standard coffee and tea drinks (including a mean Chai tea). They also have a kitchen in back that makes sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes. This is probably my second favorite coffee place. The atmosphere inside is excellent and the upstairs is my favorite place in there, it is a little quieter. The drinks here are not the best, that is why I usually just come here with friends to hang out. They have a small selection of food and deserts, and the deserts are excellent. Overall a great place to hang out in the evening. more

Spot Coffee is one of those artsy, kick-back and relax atmospheric pleasures. It is a great place to come with friends, and even to meet new friends. The prices are average for what you would pay at other coffee locales, however this place has a lot more variety I have noticed. The staff are really friendly people, and are more than willing to help you find that perfect blend of caffiene and flavor. They showcase the work of local artists on the wall, as well as playing host to various local musicians. Comfy couches are spliced with table settings, and the shop is laid out on two floors. Plenty of seating, plenty of coffee, and lots of desserts to choose from. more
