I really enjoyed the service received by the owner (in the past) and this evenings bar tender which is why I chose this venue to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in ages. When...

Split is the worst restaurant in Bridgeport Village! I would rather go to McDonalds. Rude service, overpriced, and obviously somewhere that is always trying to cut cornors Pros: Not a single one Cons: Awful management. more

A DO NOT GO! Looks great from the outside, but a disaster behind the counter! 11/20/2008

My wife and I decided to go to this place up before seeing a movie. We had passed it a few time and decided to duck in this eve. There were about 15 others in the restaraunt; 3 at the bar, a table of 6 or 7 ladies and a few doubles at other tables. Not busy by any means! We sat, and ordered drinks. About 15 minutes later our order was taken- 1 hamburger for me and halibut for my wife. Quick and easy. 45 minutes later still no food. Not only that, we had not seen or heard from our waiter- not another drink, appatizer... nothing. Our movie was due to start in 20 minutes so I guestured to a waiter and he said our food would be right out. 10 minutes later, my wife had her fish. 10 minutes after that I asked for the bill as we had to leave. The waiter took my card and walked away. Another 10 min I got up and went looking for my card as we had to go and he still had not returned. I found the waiter back of restaurant and at which moment he handed me my card like nothing was wrong and the bill for $50 which included the burger I never got!!! I DO NOT recommend this place unless you have $$ and time to waist!!! Instead, go to Macoroni Grill or PF Changs... McDonald's has better service! Pros: Appears nice from outside Cons: Horrible service and wait time.. if you get your food! more

Split dine and STINK 11/16/2008

New chef? Who cares. What it used to have was vibe. now its slow service, poor drinks, and cold depressing atmosphere. They used to have a chef there, but i can't remember his name. I think it was John or James, but he always had killer specials. Too bad. Used to love that place. now it STINKS! Pros: can't give any Cons: Change for the worse! more

what the... ? 11/7/2008

... heck happened to this place?? walking in i was a little dissappointed to not recognize ANY of the staff. the bartender i remembered was funny, personable, and made a GREAT cocktail! but she's been replaced along with the drinks she made so well. overall, the whole feeling of the place was kind-of stale. and the ""black martini"" i orderdered wasnt worth having more than one. my friend and i left after one drink, feeling like we weren't welcome. we went next door to Sinju instead. Pros: close to movie theater Cons: new staff and menu more

It definitely was not a ""Split"" experience for us 10/3/2008

The service was ""slow""! Quite ironic, their name did not stand up to the very slow service we received. We went there recently and were very disappointed. We ordered a caesar salad with chicken on it and shrimp cocktail. Both dishes were so-so and not worth coming back for. We couldn't understand why it took so long for both these dishes. We sat at the bar and maybe that was not the thing to do. I asked for a drink menu, (martinis) but the bartender did not have one and she said I had to advice her on how to make them. Well I am not a bartender and I don't know what goes into those drinks. So I gave up on getting a martini. So we learned our lesson on going somewhere different and will continue going to our favorite place which is McCormick & Schmidts, good food and good service all the time. We ended up going there for dessert and got prompt service and good food, as always. We felt at home. Pros: Can't name any, why go here when other places are better Cons: poor food, slow service more

Best kept secret in Bridgeport Village! 7/18/2008

My husband and I typically go to P.F. Chang's when we shop at Bridgeport. After a movie, we saw the full bistro-style patio at Split and decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar and chatted with Rachel, whose impressive wine knowledge turned us on to a tasty Barbera we'd not tried before. We ordered the calamari (Yum!) and a table opened up on the patio before it arrived. For dinner, I ordered the serared ahi tuna salad and my husband ordered the NY Strip Steak. This was the best meal we have enjoyed in some time. The steak was prepared perfectly and the ahi was better than I have had at popular sushi restaurants. Our patio server was full of smiles and attentive to our needs. We split a braquetto and brownie for dessert. Delicious! What started as a quick bite turned into an all evening event. We befriended the table next to us and a live swanky jazz band arrived, creating a great ambiance. Split is our new favorite place. The wine list, the menu, and the great service have earned Split our first 5 star citysearch restaurant rating and will be the only place we ""dine and drink"" in Bridgeport in the future. Pros: Service, Ambiance, Food Cons: Patio is small and first come first serve, so you might want to make a reservation more

Great Food, Great Atmosphere 6/21/2008

We have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. We have ordered many different menu items and drinks - the white bean and lentil soup is delicious. The last time I went there, I had the Atlantic Salmon and the mashed potatoes and red peppers that came with it were great.\r The waitresses are very knowledgeable about the wine selection (about $4-12 per glass, depending on the wine itself.) Whenever we are there, it feels like we are on vacation. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!\r The manager, Brian Davis, always gives us a very personal touch and is very attentive to details and strives for excellence (unlike most restaurant managers who just don't give a s**t). more

Skip it. Go to the other good restaurants in Bridgeport. 6/8/2007

My husband and I stopped in before seeing a movie this evening. He ordered the fish and chips and I ordered the ""ravioli"". We were both very dissapointed. The fish was so oily, my husband did not even finish it. (And he finishes everything!) The fries were room temperature, and not very good. The ravioli I had was not good at all. It was very bland, and not ravioli. There was a flat noodle on the bottom, and another one on top with sauce covering it all. It was luke warm. We were sitting next to another couple, who got there right before us. We started talking about the restaurant while we were waiting for our checks. They agreed that the food was terrible. She had a bowl of two soups together served room temperature, and she said it tasted awful. The salad that accompanied it was no bigger than her fist. Her husband was not satisfied with his dinner either. (Shrimp dish)\r \r There are so many other good restaurants at Bridgeport. The only thing good about this place is that it is right next to the theatre. Then again, so is Sinju (wonderful) and Blue Tangerine (never tried it). Pros: Location, and wait staff. Cons: The food. more

Worst food ever! 5/15/2007

My husband and I came here for lunch today. My food was very bland and his was way to salty. I usually don't complain about food being bad but I'm sorry this was awful. We will never be back. Pros: Great outdoor seating Cons: Bad tasting food more

Luv IT 2/22/2007

This fabulous place is located in the most perfect location. Before a movie or after a movie or a break from shopping you can stop in for a bite and a drink. My husband and I decided to try it out before a movie. We made it for happy hour and he had the this fish n' chip kind of a dish that was huge! I got their salad with salmon, it was delicous. Then we also couldn't pass of the rum and cokes and the rasberry lemon drops for only $4! The different martini drops that they have were all very tasty I have tried them all and my favorite is the rasberry. Anyways we found ourselves chatting with the bartender for a while and other people sitting at the bar and forgot about our movie! We ended up not going to the movie but just hung out instead at this new place that we have grown to love. I aslo have taking a friend of mine to lunch here and we had an equally nice time. more

Great wine! 1/14/2007

Split is the place to be for fabulous wine and great great service. Bridgeport defiantly needed this place! The ambience is great, woodwork is amazing and gelato is yum! Everyone needs to try Split- it's great to dine at before a movie next door or during a shopping excursion. Pros: Great ambience and wine list more

Rockin' drinks and service! 12/17/2006

i recently dropped by split while doing my last minute holiday shopping with friends. though i didn't find what all was on my list, i did find a great place for dinner and a drink. the staff was outstanding, especially our waiter john. he was very attentive and had the best recommendations, the lemon gelato and pound cake was to die for. he mentioned that he actually makes the gelato for the restaurant as well......something i have never experienced before. overall the atomosphere was upscale but not snobby, the drinks were perfect and the food was well worth the bridgeport experience. i highly recommend this place for a delightful night out with friends. more

Slick bar ... at Bridgeport Village??? 11/30/2006

We came across Split late last Saturday night after leaving the movie theatre just before midnight. It's a beautiful bar, especially by standards of the culture-free zone of Tigard/Tualatin. We had wine and enjoyed the ambiance of the place. The service was friendly and entertaining. We'll definitely go back to this place -- I was surprised by how few people were to be found there -- my guess is that once word gets out that more folks will migrate from McCormick & Schmicks to Split. Pros: Nice lighting, striking interior design more

Great atmosphere 11/14/2006

I recently went into Split with 4 of my girlfriends for a girls night. I was impressed from the moment we walked in. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is light and playful yet quiet and romantic. The drinks are amazing! I recomend the champagne cocktail, its heaven! The food is wonderful as well, just enough. This is a great place for friends and conversation. I now visit Split a least twice a week! Pros: Ambience, Valet more

Great find 11/9/2006

My husband and I decided to try this place before we went to see a movie at Bridgeport. We were so happy that we did. Not only do they have great drinks but they have great food as well. We did have one little hiccup and that is when my husband order a chicken salad but ended up with chicken skewers. The chicken skewers were fantastic. It was a great oops. :-) We will definitely be going back again! Pros: Great drinks and food. more
