Southside Place Animal Hospital

I've been taking my pets to Southside since they opened, and I love the service and the vets! I have met all the employees and they seem to be excellent workers. I am surprised to see bad reviews, because every time I have been there for check-ups and even an emergency visit or two the staff has been caring and attentive to my pets' needs. The clinic is always neat and orderly, not to mention clean. more

Dr Frei has lied to me personally in a life and death matter for my pet. A true person/ Vet would not treat us so badly. When my pet dies, she will be to blame! more

Dr. Frei is a fantastic vet. She is a character and will pretty much tell you like it is.... But, she is incredibly caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and truly loves her furry patients. She helped us have 14 amazing years with our sweet boy, Henri and did a great job of helping us balance quality vs. quanity of life and cost. I am writing this to help others find a great vet and also in appreciation for all that Dr. Frei has done for us. more

All the Doctors at Southside place have been great to me and my four boston terriers. They do such a great job of handling my 13 year old boston "Frink". He has a plethra of medical conditions and the doctors have helpped prolong his life. They HAVE NOT made me feel in any way that i was being "nickel and dimed" or treated badly. I have read some of the other reviews on here and i cant help but to laugh at some of the things people say. If certain people dont get what they want when they want it they automaticaly resort to name calling, threats, yelling, and posting BS reviews on the web for all to see. Working with the public myself i understand that everyone has bad days. I also understand how difficult some people can be. Thank you very much for taking such great care of all of my furry kids. :* more

I am so happy I found Dr. Reyna. She has been so helpful to me and my precious cat. She has gone out of way to help me through my babies treatment and has spent time talking to me both after hours and weekends. You are attentive, patient and kind.Thank you so much. . more

Dr Frei and her staff have been caring for my animals for over 14 years and I don't trust anyone else with my pets. Everyone there is knowledgable and friendly. My pets love to be there. I recommend everyone I know to Southside Animal Hospital. more

I am shocked!! I have been a client at Southside Place Animal Hospital for 15 years and have always strongly recommended them to friends and neighbors. I have had the pleasure of meeting all of the doctors Dr. Frei, Dr. Teboe and Dr. Reyna and they have all been great to me and my children when we come in for services. Any negative review must involve poor miscommunication between the individuals.Sometimes we forget as cliets there are rules we must all follow. more

The doctor rudely excoriated by wife this morning in their lobby, reducing her to tears. Why? Because the staff (we learned this morning) made up a story about me swearing at them last week when they refused to refill a regular prescription for my old dog's chronic condition--unless we booked another office visit. I never, in fact, even raised my voice and certainly never used off-color language (I don't) but did complain that the medicine was for a permanent, chronic condition, diagnosed by Dr. Frei, and that the dog would suffer over the weekend without the medicine. I asked for a few days supply until we could see the vet but was refused that, too. My innocent remark--or maybe the made up story her by staff- apparently had her drop us from future care this morning and inspired a tirade that reduced my gentle wife to tears. I tried to call to resolve it but the Doctor went ballistic and then hung up on me. Buyer beware! more

Wow, I was shocked to read such scathing reviews. I have taken both my kitties to SS Place Animal Hosp and I have always had the best experience with ALL the vets. Dr. Frei has always been the best and Dr. Reyna has always been the best. My big kitty swallowed a yard of plastic ribbon and it had to be surgically removed. They treated him so lovingly and when I go back they always remember him and are very good not only to him but my other kitty too. I recently moved and regret I cannot take them back as they used to be right around the corner. I can only say the best things about them and hope that the incidents descibed are isolated. I do know that the doctors are on rotation, so sometimes you do not get the same Dr. all the time. I was just lucky enough get Dr. Reyna regularly and Dr. Frei occasionally, but she was always nice and professional and returned calls. I know when my kitty was there Dr. Reyna called me every day over the weekend it took place even though the clinic was closed to let me know how he was. I will always be eternally greatful to them and all that they did for us and I will miss taking my kitties there. more

I never write reviews...but felt very compelled to do this. This is a terrible vet. Dr. Frei, the owner is extremely RUDE. She argued with me in the front lobby. I am amazed that she has any customers. Dr. Haffey, another vet, told me to consider getting a smaller dog because they charge on the weight of the animal. I was pregnant at the time and burst into tears - Can you believe how RUDE they are? The only good experience was with Dr. Reyna - she is very competent. Every time I take one of my animals to the vet, they leave with medication for a separate issue. I think that they purposely LIE about certain things to run up the bill. They do not call to consult you on anything...they just do it! AVOID THIS VET IF YOU CAN!!! more
