The Snowman is a Troy landmark. They have, by far, the best homemade soft ice cream on earth! They have a tremendous selection of flavors. Their sundeas are huge and definitely worth the $5.
The onyl drawback is that it is located in North Troy, there is not a lot of parking available and the place gets packed on a summer night. There are a couple of picnic tables but it could really use twice the amount of space they have.
