YUMMO! 8/13/2010

I don't know what 01/25/2009 is talking about - Smokey Mo's has numerous sides and I always get the green beans and their butter potatoes are FABULOUS - A Turkey sandwich has enough for tow and the Turkey is always juicey. The CHOPPED BAKED POTATOES are HUGE and delish. There ribs are always tender/fall off the bone and so is the brisket. AND the sauce is the best in town - it's not good BBQ w/o the sauce. The other guys these people refer to have runny - watery - vinegary tasting sauce; FATTY brisket and DRY DRY DRY Turkey with no smokey flavor. more

SAD EXCUSE FOR A TEXAS BARBECUE JOINT 1/25/2009

So sad! Our first time to Smokey Mo's and what a disappointment!!! CANNED TASTELESS GREEN BEANS (one side dish offered) dry meat and not real tasty too boot! Small portions - big prices, like $5.00 for about 2 ounces of sliced beef on a hamburger bun, or $9.50 for 3 or 4 tiny baby back ribs - not like the big hearty meals served in some other establishments. Service was average but the place was clean with all the utensils you need including a 2 big bottles of GENUINE SMOKEY MO BARBECUE SAUCE WHICH YOU WILL NEED TO SMOTHER THE MEAT WITH SO YOU THINK YOU'RE GETTING REAL BARBECUE MEAT. Sadly, there was a line there on Saturday night at the new location Cypress Creek... I just hate it when a restaurant throws junk at you cause they're the only game in town.... that was out first and last visit to Smokey Mo's. Too Bad - Doc, Lakeline Oaks, Cedar Park Pros: Clean Cons: Bathrooms for one only! Shabby cheap decor, food was tasteless. more

Mo's getting too many restaurants 6/2/2008

The Cedar Park store used to be great. I just got back from paying $10 for a rib plate with two ribs. I questioned it and the carver said that's what you get. That would never happen if Mo was around. He must be paying too much attention to his new stores and have his managers on a cost-saving plan. I will say they tasted as good as always, though. The service was a little slow, too. The carver was in the back opening cans of Bush's beans (really - I could see them) and acted like we were bothering him to come cut me some meat. I'll probably go over to J&J's from now on. Pros: Pretty good BBQ Cons: Store was a little dirty and servings were meager more

Smokey Moe's is by far, one of the best barbeque places around. My favorite item on the menu is a chopped baker---a HUGE baked potato piled with butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, and a big heaping of chopped beef! It's the best! This place is highly recommended! more

Really Great for Takeout BBQ 6/18/2005

I stumbled onto Smokey Mos almost by accident when I moved into the Cedar Park area. Their BBQ is top notch, some of the best I have tasted in Texas. The store is very deceiving, as it is a small storefront in a strip mall. However, once you taste the food you will be glad you stopped. However, there is not a lot of room to sit there and eat, though I have a couple of times and it was just fine. Pros: great bbq, fast service, good portions Cons: a little small more
