Good pizza, club environment 2/10/2010

I really like Slice... of the 'za by-the-slice joints in town, it's what I consider to be the best. Slices are huge, thin and crispy, and they put some sort of garlic butter on the crust which makes for a happy ending. Maybe it's because of places like Antico or Varasano's opening this year, but I've rarely found myself wanting to return. And here's why: It's so loud you can't even think, much less talk to someone. And I'm not talking ""loud"" as in -- it was a noisy restaurant -- I'm talking loud as in Professional-Nightclub-Sound System-Loud. I'm all about having indie dj's spinning at night, but when you need a bullhorn just to place your order, much less talk to the person sitting RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.... it's a little much. Think it might be take-out only from here on... Pros: Solid by-the-slice pizza Cons: Airplane terminals make for better conversation more

Bar with Pizza 7/22/2009

I have been to Slice a few times, but usually get take-out. I tried eating here once. It was way too loud and the service was not very attentive. The pizza is expensive, but a better option instead of ordering Papa Johns. Pros: Pizza Cons: Atmosphere more

Very very chill!! 3/9/2009

Worst atmosphere and disgusting food 11/23/2008

Apart from the obnoxiously loud music, the pizza made me very sick. Without going into any details, I was up all night with cramps and other 'problems.' Unfortunately, the food and music weren't the only issues. The staff were rude and slow. Avoid this place at all costs! Cons: everything more

NOT SO EXCITED... 8/26/2008

While Slice has good food, the experience was definitely mediocre. The service is absolutely dreadful. Once seated, I waited 15 minutes before the server even greeted us and took the drink order. By the time he came back, I had forgotten what I wanted to order. He was very distant and didn't have any enthusiasm in regards to his job. We felt like we had done something to him. By the time the food came I had already had 2 naps and was well out of my drink. NO REFILLS, NO IS EVERYTHING OK. The food is good but the service is AWFUL. Will not be returning. more

No hurry to go back. 2/25/2008

I've been to Slice a few times, usually at the request of a friend to meet there for quick drinks. I can't say anything bad about the place or anything really great. Maybe it's just me, but the vibe in there is just weird to me. Each time I've been, it seemed like the place was really packed with guys who seemed like they were all scoping each other out. I just don't know, a little suspect to me. If I met a guy that mentioned they hung out at Slice, it would definitey raise an eyebrow. Pros: Peters Street Cons: Just Not Feeling It more

great food, nice music and they also have wi-fi 12/6/2007

I went to slice when i was in atl visiting and the service was good, and there's wi-fi so u can also take ur laptop if u have wireless. Pros: wireless service more

LOVED the atmosphere, the service, nice chill spot 8/20/2007

I absolutely love this place!! I visited Slice during my visit to Atlanta and had a complete BALL!! The DJ was playing a mix of 80's and 90's music, reggae, and current music, the pizza was great. I appreciated the unique toppings and recipes that they created. I had fun, and did I mention that it was on a Sunday? LOL!! Pros: the pizza, service, live DJ Cons: parking, the space is small more

Just ok 7/18/2007

Slice is just ok. The 3 times that I have been, the service has been either decent or just poor The bartenders seem hurried and its hard to get their attention, but that must be because its usually packed and Slice is very small. You seat yourself and hope that a waiter will notice you in a timely manner.Prompt and attentive service is not guaranteed. Cons: limited street parking, service more

Not worth it. 6/30/2007

It's a conversation spot for drinks, but nothing more. The food isn't that great and it's over priced for what it's worth. I ordered shrimp and got 5 shrimp and a mint for $10. And the service isn't that great. more

Good pizza, but not the best 6/19/2007

I went to Slice on Peters Street in search of a new downtown lunch spot. The atmosphere was very club/bar like even at noon on a weekday...I was completely out of place in my suit. The service was friendly and the pizza was good, but nothing spectactular. I won't go back unless it's someone else's choice. Pros: Easy Street Parking Cons: Bar environment even during the day more

Expected More 6/18/2007

I sent to Slice Saturday afternoon with a friend. I expected parking to be a hassle but it wasn't. However, once we got inside the establishment I wasn't overly impressed (over crowded and inappropriate behavior) but I figured I would give it a chance. We decided to place an order to go since it was PACKED from end to end. It took a while for the server to even acknowledge our presence. Once she did, she passed us on to the bartender. Two gentlemen were nice enough to give up their sits by the bar when they noticed us lingering behind them (trying to get the bartender's attention). After sitting for several minutes without our presence being acknowledged, we decided to go some place where we could hear each other think much less speak. I thought that the other review commenting that it was kind of a ""hood-like"" spot was an exaggeration .... sadly it isn't. Although I will continue to support small businesses, I am not sure if I have any desire to go back there. Pros: Full bar selection Cons: We may need a drink before you get there more

Great atmosphere 10/3/2006

If your looking for a relax, soothing atmosphere here's were you need to be. The music is cool the crowd is great the the drinks or on point. more

Great Little InTown Gem 2/20/2006

Being from the Northeast it's has been hard to find good pizza in Atlanta.... Then I found SLICE... The food really is excellent! Good pizza, cocktails and an upbeat vibe that's fitting for it's locale. If your looking for a cool lounge with a cross-section of Atlanta's 20, and 30, somethings, old school classic movies playing on the flat screens, and a modern decor' then this is the place for you.... Pros: Quick Street Parking, Cool Vibe, Cool Design more

The Meet & Greet Spot of Today 1/20/2006

Slice is the spot for meeting new people, enjoying great food and drinks. If you are looking for a place to enjoy fresh pizza with a variety of topping to choose from Slice is the place. Don't forget about the full service bar, the COSMO's are excellent! Singles meet other singles, friends gather to catch up and people watch. The ambience is hip yet cozy. Check out the DJ on Wednesday and Saturday nights! more

Pretty darn good! 1/3/2006

I went to Slice for the first time over the summer and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Even if you are just going there for a couple of drinks, it's a cool spot. My third time there I finally tasted their pizza and I must say it's pretty darn good. I probably should have tasted it sooner instead of focusing on their wide variety of alcoholic beverages. I haven't been since the summer but from what I remember Thursday nights seem to be the most crowded. I really like this spot. The waitstaff is very friendly and the crowd is hip. They even have comfy sofas if you choose not to sit at a table! I recently saw that they opened I new location right by the Compound! Hopefully it's as attractive as the original! Pros: hip, good food, good drinks Cons: secluded location, limited seating more

Different, but good 12/13/2005

So the place is loud, plays hip-hop, small, crowded, but good food and service. The pizza is very tasty and the service friendly and fast. However, it is a small place, and in a VERY bad location. At first, I almost missed it with how empty the streets are and nothing is around it. There's low lighting and it feels like a dance club with the hippity hop playing at loud volume. Then, there's only like 10 tables and a bar. However, it was Thursday night and it wasn't that crowded, but it seemed that way just off the size of the place. The pizza was great, so take the good with the bad. Pros: pizza, service, people-meeting Cons: location, seating, noise more

waaaay ghetto 10/21/2005

a girl named tasha owns the place...she's super cool...but the vibe in there is so ghetto and loud. i'd love to chill in there..and the food is good....but i cant take it on weekends. more
