Awesome service! I had a Skinner service tech come to my home to hook up and wall mount my flat screen television. The technician was punctual, polite, professional, knowledgeable and well groomed. I have also had two pieces of equipment repaired since then, one a flat screen television with a built in DVD player that I was sure was DOA. Come to find out, it was an easy and inexpensive fix. The other was a very nice high end portable DVD player. Sad to say it would have been too expensive to fix it. The service tech Bryan was upfront and honest about this, showing me how much it would be to fix it vs purchasing a new one. I bought a new one. I appreciate his candid honesty. If they had stars for ratings I would give Skinner Electronics 5. I will do business again with them should the need arise. more

I love these guys! I recently had a vcr/dvd combo player that broke. The dvd tray broke after one of my kids decided that it was the proper place to put cotton balls (I don't know how he even managed that). I tried to fix it myself which only made things worse. So after a bit of nagging from my wife, I decided that I am not an electrician and I needed to hire a professional.\r \r I called these guys and was amazed at friendly the staff was. They talked to me like I was family and told me that they could fix my dvd player in two days. I was shocked given that it had taken me five days to further break it. The price was pretty reasonable at $38 given that I paid $100 dollars for the player.\r \r Imagine my surprise when I got a phone call quite literally one day later. I thought that something had gone wrong and that I was going to be in more trouble. Alas, such was not the case. The call was to inform me that they had fixed our dvd player early and that I could pick it up at my earliest convenience. When I got there, the lovely lady at the counter informed me that not only had they taken the cotton out of the gears in the dvd player, but that they had also cleaned out all of the dust and cleaned the lens. I think the next time I need an electronic device fixed, I won't pretend that I know what I am doing. Instead I will just call these guys. more

Called for someone to come look at TV. First, we were told to call Mitsubishi & get a case#. Possible recall?? Next, ordered new chips. Chips needed to be soldered to an electronics board. Board was damaged beyond repair by Skinner and Mitsubishi didn t make replacement boards anymore. Skinner found a used board and put tv back together. Still didn t work. Something new damaged? Then told we needed another part. Next thing we know Mitsubishi is calling us leaving messages about a settlement/claim. No contact from Skinner. Upon questioning Skinner we were told the new part we needed was considered NOT to be a job since the price of the part was 1/2 the price of a new tv. They suggested just buy a new tv. So after multiple trips (& work hours) to my home and finally taking the tv in to the shop, still nothing. I kept hearing If I would have known _____, I would have done ____. The only good thing that came of this is that they only charged me for the original diagnostic ($75) because there were so many errors and miscommunications on their part. I ended up having to purchase a new tv. Afterward, I found out that RC Willey USED to send their electronics to Skinner for repair but they don t anymore because the tv s never came back fixed. more

We have a Sony 42"" TV that we just bought two years ago and we had a message that the light was burnt out and to replace it. \r \r We went to the store and explained what the message on our TV was saying. They gave us a bulb that they said would work. When we got home it didn't work. There reciept states they do not refund bulbs. The bulb was almost 200.00 dollars.\r \r When we tried to return the bulb they said it was the optical sensor because they have seen this problem before. That is a thousand dollars to replace.\r \r They are a Sony authorized dealer and knew what the issue was and said nothing and sold us the bulb. If you hire one of there technicians to replace the bulb it will cost you $75.00. If you pay the technician fee they will tell you the truth and you don't have to pay for the bulb. \r \r They know that the bulb is not going to work and it is a manufactor error but they still sell it to you.\r \r Also as far as customer service goes they don't have decent service. My 13 year old stepson noticed that they have attitudes, they act like they can't be bothered and they all like to sit around and watch Soap Opera's. He want's to know where he can get a job like that when he's 16.\r \r Save your self the grief and go to Salt Lake for your electronic buisness. I have dealt with lots of professional, honest places in Salt Lake. Gossip Girls with out a clue when it comes to electronics who veg out and watch soaps should not be working at an electronics store.\r \r Pros: Location Cons: They sell parts that they know won't fix your problem. more
