Authentic English Pub in Savannah 5/18/2010

I love this authentic pub that is off the beaten path of River and Bay Streets. It's a combination of tourists and local regulars plus very sweet bartenders (Laurie, Sean et al). You can sit outside and watch the world go by or enjoy some Shepherds pie or French onion soup while watching sports at the bar. Check out the incredible toby jug collection. Cool English Pub 1/24/2007

This is a fun little english pub. Great traditional food and a wide selection of beer. Inside seating is limited but there is outside seating as well. The bicyle cabbies park outside here all the time so its fun to eat here and then take one down to Bay, River St or City Market. This is also where they shot the scene in Something To Talk About, when Julia Roberts catches Dennis Quaid having diner with another woman. Pros: Great location to start off an evening Cons: nothing to note more

Great Place, Great Atmosphere, Great Beer 10/24/2006

This place is one of my favorites in Savannah! I would definitely recommend sitting outside if its warm enough!   • The Six Pence Pub was established in the Historic District of Savannah Georgia at a site that had been a Pub for more than forty years. In Savannah, Wally's Sixpence was the place to meet and greet new and old friends, and just keep up with each other's lives. Wally and Doris, being from London England knew how to make our British expatriates, and locals feel right at home. Wally was long on conversation, and Doris would prepare lunch at home ( there was no kitchen in the Pub) to serve to patrons until either it was gone, or when Wally and Doris just wanted to go home for the afternoon.In 1999 two gentlemen with too much time on their hands purchased their favorite watering hole, and began expanding the beer, wine, and liquor, selection as well as adding a full menu of traditional English and American comfort foods. The interior was changed to what you see today. As the months passed the Six Pence Pub & Restaurant became a favorite of locals and tourists alike. We are proud
