Worst

This place is a poor attempt to attract more visitors to this city and Six Flags. It's really lame and the lines are long. Definately not worth the money. If you have little kids ...

Fun Amusement Park 9/9/2005

This is a great place for older kids and adults to go. There are many rides, all of them fun and exciting. This place is made for the risk taker and definitely not anyone who is afriad of rides or heights. The cost is average for an amusement park and during the summer and other peak times ti can be really crowded. You can end up spending hours in one line. That is the only downside to this place but it is really worth it if you are visting california or if you live there. more

Something for Everyone 8/25/2005

This park has the scariest rides (X and Deja Vu) in the area, and also mediocre rides (Viper, Revolution, etc). There is even a large section of the park for the kids and Bugs Bunny. Admission can usually be found for cheap through all of the coupons floating around. Expect prices to be about $25 for adults, even in the summer. This year, they had a deal where until about April or so, if you bought a full price ticket (~$48), you could get a whole year for free. Not a bad deal at all, and you can still go to the "Fright Fest" they hold in October. The best thing about Six Flags is that the park is so big that you can spend the whole day there. There are no fireworks or night programs, but the rides light up and are very fun in the dark. more

Run of the mill amusement park 8/21/2005

If you're looking to get entertain, maybe this place will do the trick for you (or not). They have quite a few rides that are pretty good, but certainly the park designers are not going for scary rides. Lacking any better alternative in southern California, if you like roller coasters, this place might have the best ones. Having been to Cedar Point in Ohio, I have to say that this park was quite a disappointment for me; however, I would expect that most southern Californians haven't been to Cedar Point in Ohio, so this is probably an exciting place. more

Hurricane Harbor 8/21/2005

Hurricane Harbor is a nice water park. There are many different types of slides that you can ride on there. There are slides where you ride in giant inner tubes and some that you just lay down on. There are also slides where you can go with friends or on your own. This place is great to get away from the summer heat. more

For the older kids 8/21/2005

Six Flags Magic Mountain is a great theme park for the older kids who like the scarier rides and roller coasters. They have several kiddie rides but everyone that goes there goes for the huge rides. Most of their rides are great thrillers and are extremely fast. They also have several water rides that may get you soaked. I prefer to not go on Roaring Rapids because you will get drenched and it will be uncomfortable more

crazy! 8/20/2005

it's a fun place to go, mostly if you are a thrill seaker, having the best rides in southern california, such as Deja Vu, X, Riddler's Revenge, Batman, Superman, Goliath, I would not recommend this park for people with small children at all. Fun but extremely crowded on weekends. I suggest going during the mid-week. more

Awesome Slides 8/20/2005

Hurricane Harbor is a water park with great slides. There are many different types of slides. There are some where you can ride in a giant tube with your friends and there are the others where you can go solo. This is a great place to go to on a hot summer day. more

best theme park in SoCal 8/20/2005

The rides here just rock, they have more great rides by far than any other place in SoCal. You need to check out X, Goliath, Scream, and Riddler's Revenge. Those are the top four in my opinion, they are way better than anything that Knotts or Disney can put out, with the possible exception of Ghost Rider and Xcelerator at Knotts. Anyway, X is the greatest ride ever made, it's worth the line no matter how long it is. So be sure to hit up X while you're there. more

Best Theme Park 8/19/2005

Six Flags is the best theme park out there. they have the best rides including Goliath and Riddlers Revenge. They also have rides for the children. I have been to Six Flags many times and i believe it beats all the others. i highly recommend everyone to visit Six Flags and you will see why it is the best. more

Roller Coasters oh my! 8/17/2005

Magic Mountain Six Flags is known for its great roller coasters. There are just so many different kind of roller coasters that you can try. The park can get pretty crowded during summer weekends and such with very long lines for the ride. Food is usually pricey too. Admission price can vary, you can usually find a coupon for it though. more

Awesome fun 8/16/2005

This is a great theme park! Not for the coaster-phobic though. If your kids are scared of the coasters, they can still have fun in all the arcades and on the little rides, though, but it might not be so fun for you to keep track of them and spend money on games and food, etc. I'd recommend Disneyland for kids instead. For teens and people in their 20s this is an awesome place to hang out because it is pretty cheap if you get a season pass and you live close. For people that are older, you can still have fun, but it probably wouldn't be as appealing as it's not the cleanest place ever, or the friendliest. There's just so many people that use it as a local hangout that it's not ideal for vacationing, but definitely a place you have to visit at some point. They also go through employees like no other (I should know, I worked there for a whole 2 months once upon a time) so employees may not be so knowledgable as they should be... But TONS OF FUN if you love coasters!! WEee... more

All the reviews are wrong 8/13/2005

I drove seven hours to go to this park, and it was a complete waste. More than half the rides were closed, and the most popular ride in the country, Superman, was permanently closed. I was so disappointed with the park that complained to the management and all they told me was "Oh well, tough luck". This place is NOT all it's cracked up to be. Don't vacation to here. It'll be a waste of time and money. more

Good theme park, very large so prepare for an exercise 8/12/2005

This is a very good theme park but it is very large so you must be prepared to walk. The rides are thrilling, the shows are great, but the food is less than par. I have been to quite a few theme parks and the food has been less than great, but this one by far was the worst. The best thing to is to go to the Wendys right outside the park to save money and then go into the park. Also, the tickets are moderately priced and a coupon is easy to find to save you money. Be sure to bring extra money if you plan to eat in the park! more

Great weather, go in winter for short lines 8/11/2005

This is one of my favorite amusement parks around. The last time I went, it was in December and relatively empty so I was able to go on most of the rides a couple times. My favorite is the Goliath, but I love pretty much all of them including the X ride which I liked a lot but my husband said it made him sick. California is a great place for it because of the wonderful weather - even when you have to wait in line you don't die of heat or cold ever. more

I...LOVE...THRILL RIDES! 8/9/2005

This place may be deadly hot in the summer but it's all in good fun. I LOVE roller coasters and have no problems being tossed in the air for an adrenaline rush. The food is lousy but I didn't come all the way here to eat! I came to scream to my heart's content and scream I did, for the most part. There were bombs, like Scream, that were like baby rides to me(a mother of two) and there were fun ones, like Viper (loops....). I wouldn't bring my kids here, no matter how many Looney Tunes characters they cram in here. Also, at around 25 bucks with a coupon, it's quite a bargain compared to dull Disneyland. more

Okay...Fun for Kids! 8/6/2005

If you aren't squirmish about swimming in water where there are massive crowds of people, many wearing street clothes- and you don't mind having strangers brushing up against you in your bathing suit all day you will probably have a great time here. I, personally, was not thrilled with those two aspects of my visit- but the water rides were fun, the ratio of "adult only" and "kid friendly" rides seemed fair. My biggest complaint was with the shoddy operation of this park. From the "lifeguards" down to the food service employees, it seemed that finding competent staff was like finding treasure in the Pirate's Cove. Lines were completely unorganized and cutting was RAMPANT- without any staff intervention. Lines to get food stretched for up to 30 minutes wait time, even though there were only perhaps 5 people in each line with over 15 windows in operation to serve. There were areas where people had vomited and the vomit was left to sit for hours unattended to. There was a slide that dumps right into a patch of VERY rough ground that gave me a patch of road rash on my backside about 6 inches across. NOT GOOD! The employees were none of the smiling, bright, happy faces you are used to seeing at Disneyland or even Knott's. These were mostly angry, confused and seemingly untrained teens who wouldn't even make eye contact. On the brightside, the water is very refreshing on a hot day and my kids had a very fun time. Everything is mostly from the last 10 years in this park, so it isn't as run-down and shoddy as much of MM is next door. more

Yuck! 8/6/2005

If you are not particular about cleanliness, customer service, safety or the scent of body odor in the 100+ degree heat, you'll love Magic Mountain! If, however, you have a problem with lousy service, antiquated facilities, broken down, dirty old trams in a garbage filled parking lot, waste all over the ground inside the park (human waste included! YUCK!) and lines to do ANYTHING because of poor planning, poorly trained employees, etc...stay away! This park is great for teens, singles and not so much for kids. It shows. You will see relatively few families here and plenty of boistrous, rude and often violent young people. It's no joke- there are literally sheriffs posted all over the park and there is even a SUB STATION at the entrance! YIKES! If you like to live dangerously, you'll be glad you came. If you (like me) are the kind of person who keeps antibacterial wipes in your purse and likes to keep your doors locked in your car while driving, you will probably (like me) freak out when you visit!!! Not for chickens! BOCK BOCK! more

lots of roller coasters 8/5/2005

Six Flags Magic Mountain is probably my favorite amusement park in Southern California. It has around 10 super fast roller coasters to choose from, as well as a number of other rides to entertain the whole family. It can get a little crowded on certain days, but then there are other days that you can go when there are no lines at all...so it is hit or miss. They have had problems with gangs at this park, but nothing out of the ordinary that I have seen on my visits. Definitely check out Scream, X, and the Superman Ride. There are so many things to do here, but it's mostly for the thrill seekers. I'd definitely recommend Magic Mountain highly. more

Extreme fun 8/4/2005

Six Flags Magic Mountain is the park to be for extreme rides in southern California. They are infamous for their crazy roller coasters. Six Flags can be pretty hot in the summer so it is advised that one dress lightly and keep hydrated. The lines can be long but most of the rides are worth the wait, unless it's a 4 hour wait, which happens from time to time. The attractions are fun for everybody from young to old. Funnel cake is a must at Six Flags. Rides for recommendation : Batman, X, Riddler's Revenge, and Goliath. Look out for deals and coupons from markets and restaurants. more
