Went to eat after seeing on food channel and not disappointed. Crab cake best I've tasted and spinach pie melts in your mouth. I recommend to anyone in Baltimore area. And the staff was courteous. more

I went here on my short stay in Baltimore. Best place I ate at the whole 5 days. Roasted chicken with stuffing and mashed potatoes were to die for. Waitress was very nice and service was great. 5 stars from me! more

I just dont get it. 3/24/2012

Ive been coming to sip n bite for years and years. Its my go to spot after bar hoping or early morning breakfast. As I look through the facebook pictures all I see it Sophia on the show and there are way better people from sip n bite that should have been on the show. Sophia is not the face of sip n bite and i think its ridiculous that that is what they are presenting. Maybe your trying to spiffy up the place but i like that little bit of old baltimore grime that comes with sitting down and eating here. You will never get a clean fork at sip n bite ( so bring your own) but you will know the people who are serving you and you'll know the crab cakes are awesome. more

Skip & Run From This Horrible Place 8/19/2010

My brother & I decided to walk down to the sip & bite for lunch after hearing so much hype from our friends. I think we need new friends. We settled in a booth after first walking past 5 dirty tables in an empty restaurant. Ten minutes later, the waitress greeted us with ""I'm sorry, didn't see you sitting there"" in an empty restaurant, mind you. We both quickly decided on the turkey reuben with cole slaw and fries. Again, 15 minutes later, the waitress returned to tell us they were out of sauerkraut. Our food should have been ready by then!!!!! My brother then ordered a turkey club with NO bacon, and I got a BLT. Another 15 minutes later, a dry turkey club WITH bacon arrived. Five minutes later, the BLT. The waitresses are either too old to remember the order or the proper way to wait tables or they just don't care. I think its a combination of both. One sandwich came with fries as the menu promised and for some reason the other didn't. If you are looking to spend average diner prices for poor service and dry food, Sip & Bite is the place for you. We will never return. more

Sip & Bite Baltimore - Unappreciative staff with 50% Tip - CRAZY?? 12/30/2008

12/30/2008 - Food was ok and staff was initially courteous during busy time, after hours. We were very understanding, communicating no problem for delay in service...wait staff seemed to be working hard. When presented with bill, wait staff was given $40 on $20 bill, and actually asked if change was needed...100% tip, are you NUTS? This was not a 5 Star restaurant....however, I did have empathy and said only $10 change was needed, which was a 50% tip - she provided me change with No thank you, and Attitude...I will never go back....a simple thank is all that was needed!! Best Home cooked meals. 11/28/2008

I've been eating at Sip +bite since 1980.I love the service here. Its nice to be treated good and the food is just like home cooking. From the Roast Beef to the Crab Cakes. Pros: Service,Cost,Variety,Great tastem,Cold beer,Close walk from Water Taxi Cons: Parking,Large Group Seating. more

The best crabcakes on Earth, and open all night! 11/24/2007

I started coming to this place when I was thirteen, back in 1995, and I have been coming ever since. I've since moved away from Baltimore, having lived in Los Angeles and Raleigh, NC, and I have to say that this is still my favorite greasy spoon. I mean, it's a diner that serves beer, first of all. And the crowning jewel is the crabcake. Pros: cheap food, crab cakes, 24-hours, offers beer, smoking establishment, consistent service, coat racks. Cons: parking during lunch can be difficult. more

Excellent Dining at an Excellent Price! 5/16/2005

I highly recommend the crab cakes! Service was good, but the check was even better. Great for those on a budget that are looking for a quality meal. You definitely wont go home hungry!! Just be patient late night.. they are a nightcrawler favorite. Pros: Delicious Food , Prices, Cute Owner Cons: Parking more

abusive staff 1/8/2005

I had a really bad experience at Sip and Bite in which both the cook and our server were way beyond the normal range of rude to us. I have no idea why. The food is average, avoid steak. It is open 24 hours but I am now afraid of the staff and will never go back. Pros: cheap, decent food, 24 hours Cons: , parking more

Just be patient... 7/4/2004

This isn't Denny's or Waffle House but more like a local version. You'll get served when the food's ready and they get around to taking care of you. If you get there and it's busy, be prepared to hang around waiting for a table to leave and seat yourself. Once you do get your food, it'll be hot, fresh and delicious. It's good, cheap and open 24 hours. Pros: Cheap, Non-smoking more

ok 10/24/2003

Good food.Waitress was a slouch. Dont touch under the table who knows how many pieces of gum or what is crawling under it. Pros: cheap, good food Cons: needs a good cleaning, remodel, remodel more

Typical diner at an ""a-typical"" price. 2/1/2003

Good food if your looking for a greasy spoon type setting. Can't beat the value here! My wife, son, and I all ate for about $16. It was kind of small and a bit smokey but worth every penny. We will be back. Pros: Inexpensive, Good Food Cons: Smokey, Limited Parking, Limited Seating more

It's perfect! 10/3/2002

The food is basic, home-cooked fare, cooked beautifully, taste, sublime, intersting clientele, never disappointed...the VERY BEST LIVER AND ONIONS IN THE UNIVERSE, any time, day or night...Sip and bite IS THE BEST OF BALTIMORE. Pros: THERE ARE NO CONS, UNLESS YOU'RE, SQUEAMISH more
