Silver Pine Family Physicians

I have been going here for over 10 years, and have seen just about all of the doctors and they are all WONDERFUL. However, I went to get my blood drawn yesterday and had the most unprofessional experience, I left In tears. The guy that took my blood (JUSTIN) was so rude and unprofessional. Slams the stuff around, shoves the needle in my arm, no blood so he shoves it around in there pulls it out, slams it into the bin all while making those ""I'm annoyed"" breaths and he says ""today is just not my day! This is what happens with skinny little girls like you!"" He tried my other arm, no blood, he pulls it out hands me the clip board and says ""you need to come back another time"". I was so appalled by this! Thankfully I contacted the manager who was very polite and helpful and she handled it appropriately. It's sad because this is such a wonderful place and that guy gives this place a bad name. I get blood work every couple months to monitor my thyroid, and have never had a problem until dealing with this man. Everyone at Silver Pine, the doctors, and even the women at the front desk are very friendly and personable and this guy made me feel as if he did not care about me or his job. If he still has a job, I would advise you to stay away from him, and see someone more professional. more

OH MY! Why did I wait SO long to change doctors and hospitals? Unreal! They're totally awesome! When I meet Dr. Parag Patel for my initial visit, I informed him that I was looking for a doctor that was willing to work with me (team up). He was very much onboard. The whole staff is. We game planned everything. He listened to everything. Now I feel that my health (physically and mentally) are priority one. Seriously - he and I ""plan"" what to do - I actually have a voice. This doctor and his staff get it. They listen, they care, they're very professional. What I say matters.\r \r This is going to sound like an ad but - If you want a VERY VERY good doctor, Great staff, Awesome facilities - look no further! more

I had been going to see Dr. Habicht over 2 years and move to Royal Oak 2 years ago and I continue to see him although the drive is about 30 minutes because he is such a great doctor. He is so kind, spends as much time as needed with you and he really cares about what you may be going through. (I have never waited more then 5 minutes which is a plus being a mom of 2) I highly recommend Silver Pine but especially Dr. Habicht and Dr. Thibault who I had the pleasure of meeting last week when he fit me in the same day when I was in desperate need of an appointment. Hats off to these two fine Doctors :) more

I have been seeing Dr. Guevarra for about a year & I am thrilled to have him as my doctor. He is very caring & takes time out to fully consult me at every visit. I have no insurnace so he always gives me as many options as possible & helps save me medical costs. Very recommended. Pros: Very Thorough & Caring more

Dr. Hichme has been my physcian for 5yrs, and each year I go in for yearly visit. She is very kind and easy to talk to. I don't have any complaints with my trip to the office. People are friendly and are very helpful. Silverpines is really a great place to have all your medical stuff done at. Pros: Very little wait time, doctors are compassionate Cons: hardly any more

I've been seeing doctor Prameela Patel for approximately 2-1/2 years. I found her after wanting to change hospitals and doctors, but it was very important for me to have a ""One on One"" female doctor. I've already been through so much, I really needed someone to LISTEN to me, not just check me i and shoo me out out just as an office visit! I have never been more comfortable and trustworthy of any doctor in my life! I needed to be referred to several other specialists due to my many complications, and Doctor Prameela Patel has never steered me wrong! As a matter of fact, I've already referred her to my friends. My husband sees Doc Kostnois and loves him! The staff is super nice. The wait may be 20 mins, but its worth it!!! Pros: get in rather quickly Cons: waiting for meds to be refilled may take up to 48 hours more

It's hard to find a skilled doctor with a good bedside manner - but they're all at Silver Pines Family Physicians. I've personally used both Dr. Parag Patel for my daughter and Dr. Prameela Patel and sometimes Hitchme for myself. My husband sees Dr. Kotsonis and has seen Dr. Guerava as well. Yes, it's tough to get an appointment, but it's worth it. They really work with you, listen to you and acknowledge when they need to do some more research - but they have always gotten back to me timely and with good, useful information. The nurses and support staff are also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this group of doctors! Pros: skilled, personable Cons: Long wait times to get appointments more

I just begun to see Dr. Kotsonis this past summer. I did not experience any long wait time to make an appointment. In fact, I called and was able to be seen the next day. Staff was friendly. My family enjoys our visits to see Dr. Kotsonis. We are always able to get an appointment when we need one. more

I don't know why it is so difficult for these Dr. offices to manage call volume and make appointments. I just sat on the phone for 15 - 20 Minutes, only to hear the phone ring again and cycle me back to the beginning of the call cycle to ""Press 0"" to make an appointment. I am at work and just chewed up any free time I have today, so I guess I will have to risk that this lump I have is not cancer..... Pros: Nice Doctors, Clean Facilities Cons: Need to take a vacation day to MAKE the appointment, let alone go to it. more

We have had Silver Pine Physicians as our primary care physicians for the past 5 years. The doctors are pretty good. Having said that the services offered by the office staff has degraded significantly. The average wait time on the phone to get an appointment is atleast 20 mins. I had some stat lab work for a fever that has lasted a week and it has taken Dr. Guevara (and his medical assistant) more than 72 hours to respond with suggestions based on the lab work. Our average wait time to see a doctor, in the past year has been atleast 45 mins., since all of the doctors are double booked. We love Dr. Hichme, but unfortunately she has decided to work part time, so we are left choosing for the lesser of all the ""evils"". I understand times are difficult for all of us, but SIlver Pine better pull their socks up, after all they are in the service industry. All in all, good doctors but the office service leaves tonnes to be desired. Pros: Good doctors Cons: Wait times, Availability of appointments with Dr. Hichme, Prompt responses more

Dr. Guevara is THE BEST!!! He is agressive in treating his patients and is SUPER friendly, kind, and caring.....absolutely THE BEST DOCTOR!!! more

My husband, son (baby), and myself all see Dr. Habicht. He is great. We always get in to see him, don't have to wait long, and gives good advice. I trust him with the health of my family. more

I was a patient of Dr. Kotsonis. I was missed diagnosed twice. He told me I had DVT and found out that was not true. He told me to take it easy and stay off my feet. Because of that my back got weak. The problem with my legs my tendons were tightening and needed to be stretched. Not DVT. Had to go thru physical therapy to get my back stronger. The next thing was when I came in that I had pain under my rib and back which was different from above. He sent me for a cat scan. I called because the pain was worst, and he could not take the time to get back to me. I called the next day, still no contact from him. I went to the Beaumont hospital waited 3 hours and had my husband take me to the office. The office personnel said she will have to call in the back to see if he can see me because I did not have an appointment. I said screw this and went home took 3 Tylenol pm. Went to a new Doctor and found out I had a broken rib and colon and muscle in spasm. Dr. Kotsonis never return any of my calls. Cons: Dr. does not return calls, staff does not return calls more

I am a patient of Jennifer Hichme, M.D. I drive a long distance to see the physicians at Silver Pines Family Physicians simply because I receive First Class treatment! I highly recommend them! Pros: Quick and prompt service! Physicians willing to do their best to help patients! Cons: it is rare to find this quality of medical care in Southeastern Michigan! more

I HAVE ONLY GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT SILVER PINE PHYSCIANS. DR. K IS MY REGULAR DOCTOR, AND I RECOMMEND HIM STRONGLY. I HAVE NEVER WAITED MORE THEN 10 MINUTES FOR AN APPOINTMENT, AND WHEN I'VE HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT, I'VE GOTTEN IN W/IN A FEW HOURS. Dr. Tangalos is a very caring doctor who listens to his patients. If he does not feel he has the expertise to deal with the situation, he recommends specialists who he believes are the best qualified to treat the problem. I have had doctors in the past who have felt the need to ""do it themselves"" and received injury from their efforts. It is conforting to have a doctor who is wise and humble enough to trust his patients and believe there is something wrong even when the tests don't always show it. Been going to Dr. Tangalos for about 3 years. He always takes his time to thoroughly check out the situation then takes all the time needed to discuss the diagnosis. I've had good doctors and some very poor doctors. Dr. Tangalos ranks at the very top. I highly recommend. more
