Silk Day Spa

I've never in my life written a letter of praise or complaint. Here's my first: After hearing about Silk for some time, I finally made reservations for massages for my husband and me. Upon arrival, little did we know that downstairs from the darling storefront boutique is a huge spa. The boutique is filled with some of the most interesting and marvelously chosen items I've seen in NYC. I did severe damage to the credit card on my way out! After receiving the best massages of our lives, the staff had champagne and flowers awaiting us! I didn't even remember mentioning it was our anniversary. This attention to detail and the kind and caring staff will definitely bring us back. With spas opening every day and each one being more plush and grand than the last, I happily have found the perfect one of the lot: Silk Day Spa. Everything about Silk Day Spa is exceptional! The staff is knowledgable and more than willing to cater to your every need. The hot stone massage I received was breath taking! It relieved any tention that I had upon my arrival. I also recieved the Papaya Mango Smoothie facial which left my skin clean, refreshed, and glistening. As a regular traveler I have been to many of the best spas in New York and around the world. Silk Day Spa's service and treatments rate among the best. It is obvious they spent alot of time training their staff from the receptionists to the therapists. My massage and facial treatments were fantasitic, but even better was the entire experience from my greeting all the way to check-out. Best spa in New york by long way. I recived a gift certificate for a massage & a facial at silk. It was great from start to finish, the spa was beautiful the staff very friendly ( I hate pretentious receptionists!) I had the silk ki facial with Anna, it was the best facial I ever had. She asked me what I wanted to focus on and I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing! She made some suggestions but no hard selling (I hate that too). Then I had an awesome massage with Brian! He was brilliant and very sweet. I am a student so the prices are kind of steep for me, but I guess that's just ""the city"". Anyway it was great and I totally recommend it to anyone who can afford it! Service is something that is lacking in Day Spas in New York. Silk has everything. Wonderful and relaxing decor with yummy jelly beans, excellent and friendly check in and check out staff, fun selection of skin care and bath products and the best of the AMAZING services. You must have a massage with HAL and a facial with SUE! Must try! more

As soon as I walked down the stairs of this downtown oasis, I knew I was in for something unique. The luxurious, airy decor immediately removes you from the heat and noise of city outside. This weekend, my friend and I experienced the spa's signature treatment, the Silk Empress... basically three hours of pure heaven. Starting with reflexology treatments and ending with head to toe exfoliation and message, we certainly felt like queens for a day. Silk Spa totally pampers you with your own personal therapist and guide to walk you through each service, allowing us in our ""so-relaxed-we-are-completely-brain-dead"" state to fully enjoy the facilities and treatments. In my opinion, this place is a good deal for the money- so you should hurry and make an appointment before they figure it out too. more
