My favorite place 2/1/2006

I love going to shelly lake. There is a paved trail around the lake that is about 3 miles. Perfect for walking, biking and rollerblading. There are tons of ducks that live in this lake, and during the summer you can rent a paddle boat of canoe to frolic in the lake. This is always a great time and a wonderful little escape into nature. The arts center at shelly lake is also an aesome place. Technically sertoma park,, you can enroll your kids in art classes or take a pottery or photography class there yourself. the course offerings change from season to season. more

Walk Thyself 1/29/2006

Shelley Lake Sertoma Park, located off Millbrook Road in Raleigh, has excellent walking trails for both the beginner and the advanced exerciser. Bring your pooch, as long as he is on a leash, and bring a poop bag with you. Shelley Lake also has socce fields, a playground for the children, exercise activities throughout the trail and a dock with boats you can rent. more

Great park 12/30/2005

Sertoma parks most prominent part is probably shelly lake, a large lake perfect for walking around with your family or dog. In addition to walking you can canoe or paddle boat on the lake, and the arts center in the park offers photography, pottery and writing classes that can be fun for the entire family. more
