Best experiences 2/1/2012

I've had three of my four tats done at Shaw's. Their reputation proved true each time. I've even insisted that my daughter, niece and nephews go there for their first tattoos. I've used several tattoo artists there...each great artists. I just got my fourth tattoo. Joelle (sp?) did it. He was SUPER amiable. He was very professional but very friendly at the same time. He, by far, is my favorite there. I think he works weekdays during the day and Sat and Sun nights. Better call to be sure. more

Best Shop in Town, Thank you Jeremy 10/21/2011

If you are looking to get a tattoo, this is the place to do it. I've had work done there for twenty years and everytime I've gone there, the artists have been professional and courteous. Getting your first can be pretty intimidating but these guys put you right at ease. Jeremy Robards did my last work and I was extremely pleased. He was careful, precise and perfect in his execution. His background as an artists clearly showed through on the creative aspect and understanding of all the elements and how they come together. What is great about him is that he frequently opens the shop (right on time) so you can get in before the crowd hits. I can't recommend anywhere else higher. more

Horrible experience, Undependable- Do not use Jeremy Robards 9/17/2011

I am writing to warn any of you that if you go to Shaw Tattoo, I would not recommend Jeremy Robards. I originally wanted to work with Shaw Jr at the recommendation of a friend but Jeremy convinced me to let him do it. I gave him my deposit and design ideas on a Sunday and he said he would have a prototype by Monday or Tuesday. I followed up using the email he gave me, NO RESPONSE. I called a few times and when I finally got him he said that he had left the design at his house. He said he would scan it and send it to me, and I waited more

Wondeful Quality Tattoos 5/13/2008

I really liked this tattoo shop, the people there are friendly and professional, Sure the prices are a little bit higher, but the work is amazing, wether you are looking for black and grey or color, they have what I think to be the best artists there are! The really tall one, I believe his name is Keith, he does some wild color packed tattoos. I mean vibrant... I found the place I'm gonna stick with! more

Great place 3/4/2008

Got ink done. Place was VERY clean. The artist were very nice. They focus a lot of quality. It cost probably $20-$30 than your average tattoo place, but you are paying for a LOT higher quality. They also are medically licensed in the state of TX. So they can't tattoo below your ankles or below your wrist.\r \r Pros: Fantastic experince. Cons: the area is a lil' rougher at night. No big deal for most, including me. more

Excellent place to get a tattoo!! 8/12/2007

Shaws is fantastic. My husband, daughter, son and I have been there a total of 5 times. This place is so clean you could eat off the floor. Everyone is so nice and patient, especially with first timers. They are seasoned tattoo artists that know their craft. If you want a great tattoo, this is the place to go. The only time I was uncomfortable was when they played a couple of songs that were very off color, but hey - I am a 52 year old woman. I have to realize that comes with the ambiance. What was I expecting - church music??! They are very attentive, calming and true experts. I have two tattoos from there and will be getting my third one soon. I recently went to another place with my son, and they were so rude, we ended up walking out. I'll just say they are in the Conroe/Woodlands area, and the name has something to do with ""monkeys""... I will only go back to Shaws. You should, too. Pros: great work Cons: a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. more

Great experience--repeat customer 1/19/2006

As a chick getting my first tattoo, I was a little freaked out, but everyone was nice and polite and helpful and professional. My first tattoo took about 3 hours to do (so I guess I have street cred now?), but I felt comfortable and soothed by the artist. It was an original design, so I met with him beforehand a couple times and he was totally willing to bend his vision to what I wanted. LOVE this place! Very woman-friendly. I have gone back and will again! Pros: Clean and Safe, Professional Staff, Great Hours more

Shaws Tattoo Studio do beautiful tattoo artwork. They are clean and sterile and I felt so comfortable getting my new tattoo there. They have a great selection to choose from the wall and the man who did my tattoo was nice and comforting. I felt very safe here. The prices are good too! more

THE BEST IN HOUSTON 2/27/2005

Even though the location and ambient is perfect, the guys don't rely on a fancy environment (as many others in this area where I live do) to offer you what you should be looking for, in case you want to get yourself tatoo-ed, which is THE BEST TATOO YOU CAN GET. No one that takes a look at your skin (especially YOU) will interested asking if you got tattoed at the fanciest of a a place, and some of them places might not even be there while your skin will be covering you FOREVER. So... it'll only be important to see a GREAT TATOO. No more words, GO TO SHAW'S, or don't be saying I didn't tell you. Pros: QUALITY, SKILL, EXPERIENCE Cons: A, LITTLE, EXPENSIVE more

Larry has been slingin' ink for 44 years, 25 right here in Houston. Shaw's is one of the oldest & most famous tattoo studios in Houston. Known the world over for the finest tattooing and most original designs. "No limit but what you limit yourself to in tattooing."

    When tattooed at Shaw's its a single service usage. Single service usage, meaning everything that is used is sterilized. Nothing is put together until you are being serviced, everything comes out of a sterile bag, which is numbered & dated. Pigment (color) is poured in individual capsules & thrown away. Tattoo needles are thrown away in a biohazard container along with gloves, towels, and Kleenex - everything used to do the tattoo. All biohazard is picked up weekly. All autoclaves are monitored weekly & recorded. All instruments are sterilized at 270? F, 30 PSI for 55 minutes from a cold start, so you are insured the safest & best way of a trouble free tattoo. Be sure you get the best.

    Everyone working at Shaw's is certified in the continuing education in the prevention of disease transmission in tattooing and related body art disciplines making sure everyone applying the tattoo is up to date on the latest safety & sterile procedures to date.
